‘Counting On’ Viewers Think Jeremy Vuolo Sounds ‘Fake’ In His Anniversary Post for Jinger Duggar
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo were head over heels for one another when they started courting back in 2016. The two met through Jessa and Ben Seewald, and the rest is history. Now, four years later, Duggar and Vuolo are celebrating their anniversary once more — but viewers of the show aren’t convinced Vuolo’s posts were sincere.
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have become fan favorites on ‘Counting On’
Vuolo was first introduced to the Duggar family through Jessa and Ben Seewald. The pair had been in Texas and were looking for something to do when a friend told them that Vuolo was hosting a religious event at his home. Jessa and Ben attended, where they befriended Vuolo.
Vuolo returned to Arkansas to spend time with Jessa and Ben, which is where he met Jinger Duggar for the first time — and there were immediate sparks.
Duggar and Vuolo began texting, and he eventually came back to spend more time with her — which is where he asked her father if the two could start a courtship. Jim Bob Duggar gave his consent, and the two officially courted for only several weeks before Vuolo proposed during a couples trip to New York City.
Critics are convinced the couple’s marriage isn’t sincere
When Duggar and Vuolo first wed, fans loved them together. They moved to Laredo, Texas after getting married, where Duggar appeared to break out of her shell. She began wearing pants and tank tops, and she and Vuolo started going to sports games, shows, and other events together that were outside of Duggar’s religious upbringing. Duggar even dyed her hair blonde.
When the two moved to California last year, though, things started to change. Their Instagram accounts became far more staged, with captions that suggested the two were forcing their affection, according to viewers. And now, people feel that Vuolo’s recent anniversary post is no different. Vuolo posted three separate images for Duggar’s birthday, and critics of the show took to Reddit to discuss what they believed to be insincerity.
“He’s so fake… Look at that third picture it’s so forced,” someone wrote. “He’s trying sooo hard to sound intellectual and poetic,” someone else commented. “He has to try to convince us that he actually loves Jinger as a person and not an accessory,” another user wrote.
Another person suggested Vuolo only posted three separate images so he could have the proper “Instagram aesthetic” of three photos in a row. Someone else thought the photos were only a way “to convince people their marriage isn’t in shambles, of course.”
Some have noticed oddities in the couple’s other social media posts
This isn’t the first time viewers and critics have picked apart Duggar and Vuolo’s Instagram photos. Fans accused the two of seeming “fake” in their posts, which have gone from naturally candid to overly staged and edited. Duggar has somewhat gone back to her old ways by posting more natural-looking images of the two, but she still mixes in the heavily edited photos. It could be in regard to the couple’s podcast, Hope We Hold, which they often promote on their Instagram accounts.
People even once referred to Vuolo as a “dictator” after he and Duggar posted their Q&A, during which fans felt Vuolo often interrupted his wife and didn’t let her finish her thoughts. However, beyond fan speculation, there is nothing to indicate the two aren’t happy.
