How Courteney Cox Showed Her Support for Jennifer Aniston’s Reunion With Brad Pitt
If the best friend supports it, then it must be a good thing. After the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the whole world united to celebrate the brief reunion of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. One of those people supporting it was none other than Courteney Cox, Aniston’s longtime best friend.
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston shared a moment at the SAG Awards
Pitt and Aniston were married from 2000 to 2005. After their divorce, the two remained amicable. Pitt even attended Aniston’s 50th birthday party in February 2019.
While it’s been a known fact that Aniston and Pitt are both exes and friends, that did not stop the world from freaking out over their interactions at the SAG Awards.
Aniston won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her work in The Morning Show. After her win, videos appeared online of Pitt watching her acceptance speech from backstage.
Pitt won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Backstage at the awards show, Pitt and Aniston shared a brief hug.
Jennifer Aniston was asked about Brad Pitt
While the interaction between Aniston and Pitt was brief, it was a hug seen around the world. After Aniston’s SAG win, ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey brought up Pitt watching Aniston’s acceptance speech.
“What does it feel like to have his love and support, all your friends’ love and support?” Hickey asked.
“It means everything, we all grew up together, this whole room. That’s why their performances just move me and excite me and allow me to be here. It’s fantastic,” Aniston said.
She continued, “We’re part of a community together and now we get to get back to work. We’re up at 4 and we’re there for 16 hours and we rinse and repeat, and it’s a lot of work so it’s nice to have a night where you get to dress up and celebrate each other and go back to the hair and makeup truck, learn your monologues.”
Courteney Cox liked a lot of photos of the reunion
After Aniston and Pitt reunited backstage at the SAG Awards, photos of their friendly hug spread across social media.
“Oh em geeeee,” Hillary Duff commented on a video of Pitt watching Aniston’s acceptance speech.
“OMG IM FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW . The smiles,” Becca Tilley commented on an Instagram post by E! News.
“Omg,” Jordin Sparks commented on the same post.
Cox, Aniston’s best friend, also seemed to support the reunion but in a more subtle way. The Friends star liked multiple posts on Instagram of Pitt and Aniston at the SAG Awards. According to ET, Cox also liked a very telling fan comment that read: “They still love each other, no doubt.”
It’s good to know Cox supports her friend and former co-star no matter what. While some have interpreted Cox liking the pictures as her freaking out like the rest of the world, there is a chance Cox just finds everyone’s hysteria about the reunion to be funny.
