Meghan Markle made a high-profile return to the spotlight with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games weeks before the launch of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, and lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. After nearly two years out of the public eye, she’s more visible than ever. But not everyone is convinced that her recent PDA with Prince Harry as they attended the event was legitimate. Royal insiders believe Meghan’s behavior was staged for the cameras.

Meghan Markle accused of ‘very un-regal’ behavior

For the YouTube series Palace Confidential, Charlotte Griffiths from The Mail on Sunday and The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden shared their thoughts about Meghan’s recent behavior with Prince Harry. Both claim Meghan Markle is attempting to shift the public’s perception of her marriage with some carefully placed PDA.

“Snogging and hand-holding. It was a little bit cringe to watch,” said Griffiths. “At first, I thought this was ‘so fake.’ Then I noticed that Harry was quite enjoying it.”

Eden added, “I thought it was cringe-making. It was certainly very un-regal.”

He continued, “It all comes across as so phony and fake. Sure, you love each other and want to be affectionate with each other. Well, get a room!”

Griffiths continued, “Harry’s not a good actor. When he’s miserable, boy do we know it. He will walk around scowling and doesn’t care if the cameras are there.”

She concluded that the couple was “dialing it up a bit. They had to get the headline-grabbing pictures in all the papers and all the magazines because Meghan is finally about to launch her jams and her products.”

Meghan’s Netflix series is a make-or-break deal

After the mixed reception of Harry & Meghan and the cancellation of her animated series Pearl, Meghan needs a solid Netflix win to prove she can deliver compelling, successful content for the streaming service. If With Love, Meghan underperforms, it could further damage her credibility.

Meghan’s lifestyle brand is attempting to position her as a modern-day Martha Stewart. If it fails to generate buzz, it could hurt her future in the entertainment industry.

Meghan and Prince Harry signed their Netflix deal in 2020, and as their contract nears its end, With Love, Meghan could be a defining moment. It will either solidify Meghan’s appeal or reveal that public interest in her is tied solely to royal controversy.

Therefore, Meghan and Harry need this Netflix series to work. A successful project would help secure the couple’s future media deals, while a failure could signal trouble for their business model.

When is ‘With Love, Meghan’ set to debut? Will Prince Harry appear?

With Love, Meghan will premiere on Netflix on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The show was originally scheduled for release on January 15, 2025.

The Netflix lifestyle series was delayed due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Meghan requested the series be pushed back so she and Prince Harry could help the victims of the wildfires in their home state.

She shared a statement regarding the delay of With Love, Meghan on Netflix’s press site. It read, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

It is unclear how many appearances Prince Harry will make in the eight-episode series. However, he is seen at the end of the series’ official trailer.
