They’re both handling the pressure in vastly different ways.
Most royal followers agree that Kate Middleton is committing fewer mistakes and inspiring less criticism compared to Meghan Markle. But is it because she’s naturally better suited to the job of working royal, or is there something else going on?
Kate Middleton had longer to adjust to the royal life
Like Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton was just an average, middle-class citizen before she met and fell in love with Prince William while they were attending university together. Her life changed dramatically once she and Prince William started dating.
It’s true that Kate Middleton makes the royal wife life look easy. But remember, she’s had several years to get used to the demands of her role and adjust accordingly. Kate Middleton was always poised and graceful. But recently she’s grown even more assured of herself and it shows.
Meghan Markle has a different role to play compared to Kate Middleton
Even though Prince William and Prince Harry are brothers, that doesn’t mean Meghan and Kate are destined to fulfill the same roles in the royal family. While the Duke of Cambridge is being groomed to become king one day, Prince Harry is living a more mainstream life and plans to stay that way. It appears he and Meghan will still be working royals. But that’s not even close to the same thing as ruling the nation as king and queen consort.
It’s clear that Meghan Markle isn’t trying to fit in and follow the status quo, which is evidenced by how often she breaks royal protocol. That’s why it seems like she’s struggling a bit more compared to Kate Middleton.
The two royal wives are very different people
Rumor has it that Prince Harry wanted his wife to become good friends with Kate Middleton, who he’d been close with before he got married. And Kate Middleton’s demeanor is well-suited to the royal family, who pride their reserve and restraint.
There’s no right or wrong way to be a royal wife
Even though critics are claiming Kate Middleton is “better” at being royal than Meghan Markle, that’s not necessarily true. One refreshing thing that royal fans are loving about the Duchess of Sussex is that she has a strong personality and isn’t afraid to go against the tide of tradition, which is reminiscent of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Meghan Markle might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but she’s also unafraid to be herself. You have to respect that in a person.
