Here Are the Cutest Moments From BTS’ ‘MTV Unplugged’ Performance
BTS’ performances are known for being “dynamite,” their performance on MTV Unplugged was no exception. Aside from a surprise cover and a live version of “Life Goes On,” this segment featured plenty of cute moments from Jungkook, Jin, RM, V, J-Hope, Suga, and Jimin.
Here are some fan favorites.
BTS’ J-Hope and the other members shouting ‘seven!’
MTV’s Unplugged was special for BTS fans for a few reasons. This was the first time they heard songs like “Telepathy” and “Blue & Grey” live. This was also one of Suga’s first official performances since his shoulder surgery and subsequent recovery.
After the performance of “Telepathy,” Suga said hello to viewers, sharing his excitement at returning to the stage and at performing the song he wrote.
When some of the performers mentioned this was Suga’s “comeback,” J-Hope was quick to shout “seven,” with the one true seven finally being reunited. Seven is a special number for the BTS members, with the group even releasing their album Map of the Soul: 7 in 2020.
V and Jimin dancing in ‘Telepathy’
MTV Unplugged didn’t include any of BTS’ iconic choreography, even for their “Dynamite” performance. Still, singers Jimin and V snuck in some synchronized toe pointing during the group’s performance of “Telepathy.”
V and Jin playing foosball in ‘Telepathy’
Surrounded by games, these performers started this song in different areas of the “stage.” V and Jin were together at the foosball table. When the camera turned to these singers, Jin threw up his arms in defeat. V smiled.
This wouldn’t be the first time Jin shared his disappointment at a game. During one episode of RUN BTS, this performer was caught in a video game when Suga walked behind the TV, accidentally unplugging the game. Jin let out a dramatic “no.”
“You scream like in an old movie,” J-Hope said, according to one translation. Jin just started yelling again.
Jungkook starting ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay
Although BTS had a chance to perform several “b-side” songs from Be (Deluxe Edition,) they also did a cover of Coldplay’s 2005 release, “Fix You.” Jungkook started this song, after he and Jimin explained that it was meant to bring “comfort” to the BTS ARMY.
“This song gave us comfort, so we wanted to prepare this cover to comfort you as well,” Jimin said of their cover, according to a translation.
The night included a few other surprises for BTS fans, one of the biggest being Jungkook’s freshly dyed blue hair. When he posted the picture to Twitter, he became a top trending topic with fans sharing their love for the “Golden Maknae.”
