Following the success of Wicked, Cynthia Erivo movies and TV shows are expected to garner more attention. Erivo has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most dynamic and sought-after talents, captivating audiences with her powerhouse performances. After earning widespread acclaim for her role as Elphaba in the film adaptation of Wicked, Erivo’s career seems poised to reach new heights. 

Erivo has a string of impressive projects lined up that are sure to accelerate the star power she’s earned with Wicked. From new film roles to exciting television appearances, here’s a look at what movies and TV shows are next for Cynthia Erivo after Wicked.

‘Wicked: Part Two’

Follows Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The second of a two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical.

Cynthia Erivo will transform once again for 2025’s Wicked: Part Two. Production on both films ran simultaneously and ended in January 2024.

Part Two will pick up right where Wicked left off. It’s already the most anticipated film of 2025 thanks to Wicked’s record-setting box office numbers and Erivo’s captivating, emotional, and raw performance as Elphaba. 

Wicked: Part Two lands in theaters on Nov. 21, 2025.

‘Robogobo’

It tells the story of five adorable pets without a home. A kid inventor named Dax adopts them and gives them super-powered robo-suits.

Erivo lends her voice to the upcoming Disney Junior animated series Robogobo starting in 2025. She’ll voice a character called The Slink, adding to her voice roles that include Star Wars: Visions, Blues Clues, and Fraggle Rock.

Also in the cast are veteran voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, Saturday Night Live alum Ana Gasteyer, and award-winning performer Alan Cumming.

Robogobo premieres in January 2025.

‘Prima Facie’

Follows Tessa, an ambitious defense lawyer. She expertly represents her clients, including those who are accused of sexual assault. However, she finds out that the law does not provide justice after being raped by a coworker.

Cynthia Erivo returns to a starring role in the drama Prima Facie. It’s an adaptation of a play that originally starred Killing Eve actor Jodie Comer.

Playwright Suzie Miller will adapt the film script from her play. Susanna White serves as the director, having previously worked on Andor, Billions, and Masters of Sex.

The remaining cast has yet to be announced. Prima Facie is in pre-production as of December 2024.

After a near death experience, a young woman is plagued by a rare and mysterious savant ability that may be the key to unlocking the truth behind her fractured memory and past.

Erivo gets back to the world of sci-fi thrillers with Blink Speed. A savant-like character won’t be anything new to the actor following her turn as Holly in the 2020 miniseries The Outsider.

The project is based on a short story by Eric Matthew Brown, who will help pen the TV adaption. Netflix acquired rights to the story in 2022.

As of December 2024, Cynthia Erivo’s Blink Speed remains in pre-production.

‘Carrier’

Raylene is a truck driver who accepts an off-the-books assignment with no idea what’s inside. She soon learns her mysterious cargo is a threat to the world and becomes the target of various forces aiming to destroy or control the cargo.

Carrier is the final Cynthia Erivo TV show and movie that has been announced. It will adapt the podcast of the same name, also starring Erivo, released in 2019. Actor James Wellington is also attached to reprise his role from the podcast.

Dan Blank will direct Carrier. His previous directing credits include two short films. However, he worked on the visual effects for films such as Avatar, Terminator Salvation, and Watchmen.

Carrier is in pre-production as of December 2024.
