Dan + Shay Praise BTS and Jungkook’s Cover of ‘10,000 Hours’
In the past few years, BTS has been gaining attention everywhere. Not only are regular music fans coming around to appreciating BTS, but the group is also finding themselves the object of admiration from their fellow musicians.
Country duo Dan + Shay, for example, have shown themselves to be BTS admirers. They have been speaking positively about the group for a while now, and Dan + Shay recently opened up more about how much they like BTS. They even have a lot to say about member Jungkook’s cover of their song “10,000 Hours.”
Jungkook covered ’10,000 Hours’ back in July
On July 28, Jungkook shared with fans a cover of “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber. He initially uploaded a short clip, which he later deleted. However, to fans’ delight, Jungkook uploaded the track again to Soundcloud, where it has been listened to over 12 million times.

Shortly after Jungkook shared his cover, Dan + Shay took notice of BTS’s youngest member. The duo tweeted to him, “This sounds amazing. Thank you so much for singing it!”
Recently, Dan + Shay talked about BTS and Jungkook again, and the country stars have nothing but praise for the K-pop group.
“First of all, [Jungkook] did an amazing job and we’re huge fans of those guys—they’re so good, the music’s amazing, everything is just so on point,” Dan Smyers told Canadian show etalk. “He did that cover and it was just incredible. I thought it originally was just a couple lines or something and then I went on SoundCloud and he had recorded the whole song.”
Smyers also shared that it was a “tremendous honor” for their song to be covered by a BTS member. He added, “Those guys are so talented and for him to stumble upon our song and to do a whole cover of it—you know it takes a lot of time to do something like that. To go into a studio and put the vocals in and record the whole thing and then upload it—that’s super kind of him to do that.”
Dan + Shay are open to a collaboration with BTS
It’s not every day that we see a country sensation and K-pop sensation working together, but Dan + Shay seem open to making this idea happen.
On the subject of collaborating with BTS, Smyers said, “They were so good to us and so sweet about the song. Maybe someday, we’ll collaborate with BTS. We’re putting that into the world right now.”
This is similar to what Dan + Shay said back in July after Jungkook posted the cover. A fan asked the duo on Twitter if they would be up for a collaboration with BTS, and they revealed, “We would love to.”
BTS has not yet commented on this subject, but it seems many fans would be excited to see what could happen if the two artists come together.
