‘Dancing With the Stars’ Fans Love the Show’s Judges, Roast Host Tyra Banks
Dancing With the Stars, viewers regularly show their passion for the show on social media. However, they still appear to have not warmed up to show host Tyra Banks although this is her second season hosting the ABC series. DWTS debuted its 30th season of competition on Sept. 20 with a night of powerhouse performances and breakthrough firsts. Still, it seems that many fans still cannot accept that Banks is here to stay.
‘Dancing With the Stars’ shares a judges appreciation post
After sharing their affection for the performances of the evening on Instagram, the series’ official page shared a slideshow of images of Dancing With the Stars judges, all decked out and ready to score the competition’s celebrities and pros ahead of the show’s premiere.
The caption read, “Because we missed them! Appreciation post for our amazing judges and host.”
First up in the photo gallery was Bruno Tonioli. The former choreographer and professional dancer looked dapper in a simple black suit and shirt with a patterned lapel. Next was head judge Len Goodman, who made his return after a season’s absence due to travel restrictions set forth due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. He donned a smart gray suit and a buttery yellow tie.
Following was Derek Hough, debuting in his second season as a full-time judge. The former pro, who won 3 Emmy Awards for his work on the series, donned a cream-colored suit with a gold-toned mock turtleneck underneath.
Finally, Carrie Ann Inaba was stunning in a black and silver gown with panels that looked like angel wings, showed off her decollete.
Tyra Banks rounded out the slideshow
In the final image from the photo series seen above, show host Tyra Banks showed off a stylish look. She admitted on E’s Daily Pop that she wanted her outfit to be a topic of conversation.
“We gotta go big. It’s season 30!” Banks said, adding, “It’s important to do things loud and splashy.”
“The first outfit I’m gonna have on, they gonna be like, ‘Tyra’s lost her mind.’ And I think it’s important to lose your mind when it’s season 30 … have people on their phones being like, ‘She done lost her mind, turn on the TV!’”
Fans reacted, but not in a way that Banks may have anticipated
Followers of the series social media account reacted to the appreciation post but perhaps not in a way that Banks may have expected.
“This would be a fine post without Tyra in it,” stated one follower.
“I miss Tom…..He was so much part of the Dancing experience,” claimed a second Instagram user.
“Judges good, host bad!!! I fast-forward through her. It’s not about you; please leave!” exclaimed a third viewer.
“I’m not a huge Tyra fan!! I was impressed she didn’t do 1000 dress changes. This isn’t about you… it’s about the performers! I’ll be very thrilled when you find a new host,” explained a fourth fan.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
