Eight couples will face off during Janet Jackson Night
Eight remaining couples will return to the ballroom for a star-studded Janet Jackson Night. There will also be double elimination as the couples battle it out to make it into next week’s semifinals.
The show will feature an opening number and a walkout by host Tyra Banks to “Nasty” by Janet Jackson. There will also be an exceptional DWTS tour performance to “What Have You Done for Me Lately.”
For their first-round dances, celebrity and pro duos will perform dances including the Cha Cha, Samba, Salsa, Rumba, and more.
Songs that the couples will dance to include “Escapade,” “Feedback,” “Rhythm Nation,” “Any Time, Any Place,” “All For You,” “If,” “Miss You Much,” and “Black Cat.”
A spectacular dance-off will follow the performances
Following the individual performances by the celebrities and their pros, there will be four different dance-off pairings. These will also feature the music of Jackson.
Two couples will dance to the same song. At the close of their performance, the couples will be scored by one judge.
The first pairing is a Salsa, which Bruno Tonioli will judge. Jimmie Allen and Emma Slater will compete against Suni Lee and Sasha Farber to the tune “Made for Now.”
Carrie Ann Inaba will judge JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson’s Rumba against Olivia Jade and Val Chmerkovskiy to the tune “That’s The Way Love Goes.”
Derek Hough will score Iman Shumpert, Daniella Karagach, Melora Hardin, and Artem Chigvinstev, who will dance the Foxtrot to “Again.”
Finally, Len Goodman will judge a Cha Cha performed by Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten and Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke to the song “Together Again.”
