Danny Masterson’s Wife Bijou Phillips Goes Dark on Instagram After He Is Charged With Rape
Danny Masterson’s wife Bijou Phillips has gone silent on social media following her husband’s June 17 arrest on rape charges. The 40-year-old deactivated her Instagram account shortly after Masterson, 44, was charged with raping three women between 2001 and 2003.

Masterson was arrested Wednesday morning and released later that afternoon after posting a $3.3 million bond, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The That ‘70s Show star is accused of forcibly raping three women in separate incidents at his home in the early 2000s. In a press release, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said that the actor allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman between January and December 2001 and a 28-year-old woman in April 2003. He is also accused of raping a 23-year-old woman between October and December 2003. The district attorney declined to file charges in two other cases, in one case because of insufficient evidence and in the other based on the statute of limitations for the alleged crime.
Masterson is scheduled to be arraigned on September 18. If convicted, he faces a possible maximum sentence of 45 years to life.
Bijou Phillips is reportedly in ‘shock’ about allegations against Danny Masterson
In a statement shared with In Touch Weekly, Masterson’s attorney Tom Mesereau said the allegations against The Ranch star were “false.”
“Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife [Bijou Phillips] are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year-old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately, the truth will come out,” Mesereau said.

Masterson and Phillips married in 2011 after dating for eight years. They have a daughter who was born in 2014. The two met at a celebrity poker tournament in Las Vegas, according to a profile in Paper magazine. Phillips said she was initially drawn to him because he was the only guy at their table who wasn’t flirting with her. After the event in Vegas, the two started talking, with Masterson telling the publication that he quickly realized Phillips was “unbelievably intelligent” and “amazing.”
So far, Phillips has not commented on the allegations against her husband. But the actress and model has her own history of controversial behavior. In 2017, Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese claimed she bullied him about his sexuality and his weight on the set of the 2001 movie Bully. Phillips later apologized, according to a report from HuffPost.
Phillips is the daughter of the late John Phillips, the lead singer of The Mamas & The Papas, and Geneviève Waïte. Her half-siblings include actress Mackenzie Phillips and singer Chynna Phillips.
