David and Victoria Beckham Have Endured Years of Affair Rumors – How Do They Make Their Marriage Work?
David and Victoria Beckham have been married since 1999, and the couple has four children together. Since they are both high-profile celebrities, David and Victoria’s relationship is often in the spotlight. This means they have encountered their fair share of negative rumors that could threaten their marriage.
Over the years, David and Victoria have been hit with all kinds of reports about David allegedly having affairs. However, the pair continue to stay together, which has no doubt led some fans to wonder: How do they make their marriage work?
David and Victoria Beckham constantly face rumors threatening to their marriage
In the early 2000s, David and Victoria began seeing rumors pop up about David having sexual encounters with women outside of his marriage.
In one instance, tabloid reports claimed he was having an affair with his assistant. At another time, he was accused of having relations with a model while on a pre-season tour with his then-club Manchester United. As the years went on, other rumors also circulated the tabloids with the same story of David allegedly cheating on Victoria.
However, the couple has always maintained there was no such thing happening. They also released several statements shutting down these rumors and sharing that David and Victoria were happy together.
David and Victoria Beckham choose to ‘stick together’ even in difficult times
While a lot of people would find it difficult to deal with a constant stream of negative reports about their relationship, David and Victoria choose to stay strong and “stick together.”
In 2017, Victoria wrote a letter to herself for British Vogue that touched on this topic. She said: “In relationships people will throw obstacles in your way, and you either maneuver around them or you trip up… Even when you don’t necessarily want the same thing, your support for each other will mean that you stick together and grow up together. And it will be worth it.”
David and Victoria Beckham value communications and support for each other
In addition to not succumbing to rumors, David and Victoria also try to keep their relationship strong. They are both busy people with their own careers, but the couple still tries to not let those circumstances sever their ties.
Speaking to Today in 2019, Victoria shared, “Communication is key. You know, we love our family. Everything we do revolves around our family. I think it’s just being focused, working hard [and] having a great support team around us.”
In 2018, Victoria also explained at the Forbes Women Summit how she and David are a team.
“We really are equal with everything we do at home with the children,” she said, as reported by the Daily Mail. “When I’m away he’s the one doing the school run and doing the cooking.”
She added, “I try really, really hard. I try hardest to be the best mother… I am trying to be the best wife and the best professional. When I get home I try to put the phone down and spend time with the children and spend time with David.”
