Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are just one of those couples that everyone hopes will be together forever. He’s one of Hollywood’s funniest actors, and she’s practically this generation’s American sweetheart. Together, it seems that they can do no wrong.

Bell has found success recently, in practically everything she touches. She recently finished the delightfully funny The Good Place and also stars in Frozen 2 and the new Veronica Mars reboot.

Her husband just wrapped up on Netflix’s The Ranch and can now be seen on Bless This Mess. With two children and a 7-year marriage, it seems like nothing can get in between this Hollywood super couple. There’s just one problem. The actor recently discussed the love of his life and — spoiler alert — it’s not Kristen Bell. (Though, he’s likely half-joking.)

How long have Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell been together?

There are some couples where it seems like they’ve always been together. Couples like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. And then there’s Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell.

Bell and Shepard met through a mutual friend at a birthday party in 2007. And believe it or not, it was not love at first sight for them.

In fact, Shepard recently admitted that Bell’s sparkling personality kind of freaked him out. But despite the initial apprehensions, the couple decided to give it a go.

Things worked out and the couple became engaged in 2009. In 2013, they made things official when they said, “I do,” at a Beverly Hills Courthouse. The two have since had two kids and have been open about the ups and downs of their relationship.

There has always been something about Brad Pitt for Dax Shepard

The Chips actor has always been open about his unrequited love for Brad Pitt. On a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Shepard stepped in to guest host for Ellen DeGeneres.

The talk show host created a montage of all of Shepard’s outpourings of love to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star. At the end of the clip, DeGeneres was seen asking Pitt: “Did you know that Dax Shepard has a crush on you?”

To which the actor replied, “I have a bit of a crush on Dax Shepard.” Cue fangirl screams from the “Armchair Expert,” host.

Dax Shepard dishes on the love of his life

Any time Bell and Shepard are out together, you can’t help but think that they were destined to meet. So naturally, it reasons to think that Shepard would have no issues naming his wife as the love of his life.

As it turns out, it’s not so straightforward. Shepard stopped by The Ellen Show again recently and the host brought up the now-infamous clip. DeGeneres said that she hadn’t talked to Shepard since he stepped in to co-host for her and saw the hilarious gift.

Shepard said that springing that clip on him was a dangerous thing to do when he was guest-hosting the show. He went on to say, “As I’ve learned, there’s a lot of balls in the air here,” he continued, “You’re juggling really quickly.”

But then comes the revelation —

“And then you get hit with something like that — love of your life telling you it’s not unacquainted… that’s overwhelming.”

But the story doesn’t stop there. Once their love was out in the open, the two decided to “go on a date.” Shepard told DeGeneres about his “Pretty Woman” experience, complete with a helicopter ride, motorcycle racing, and head-to-toe leather.

It looks like one of Hollywood’s greatest love stories is now out in the open. Look out Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal — there just might be a new bromance in town.
