‘Days of Our Lives’ Comings and Goings: Will a Soap Vet Return?
Days of Our Lives is currently being pre-empted due to the Olympics. But when the show finally returns on August 9th, fans may be treated to a few new cast members. Let’s take a look at the potential comings and goings of the hit NBC soap.
Some legends are already on ‘Days of Our Lives’
Much ado was made about Marla Gibbs when she joined the Days of Our Lives cast. The acting legend reunited with Jackée Harry for the first time since 227. Gibbs joined the show as Paulina Price, Olivia’s mother. Her episodes will air shortly after the show comes back.
Also, as we previously mentioned, AJ McLean will also be joining the cast. But his role will be a much smaller one — and far from permanent.
While those two announcements are the biggest comings and goings so far, there are rumors that there will be more in the days and weeks to come.
But other soap legends are rumored to be returning
According to Soaps @ SheKnows, there are more than a few soap legends who will be coming back to Salem and rejoining the Days of Our Lives cast.
Greg Vaughan, who originated the role of Eric, hinted that he’d be coming back to the show. Jaime Lyn Bauer, a veteran of The Young and The Restless, will soon be reprising her role as Laura, Jennifer’s mother.
But the biggest bit of Days of Our Lives cast news comes courtesy of Kyle Lowder. According to another report for Soaps @ SheKnows, he shared an Instagram Story last week that suggested he’d be reprising the role of Rex any day now.
Who else can we expect to stay…and go?
Other comings and goings are relatively minor in comparison to the “big dogs.”
Brady and Kristen’s daughter will no longer be a toddler soon, and according to SoapHub, Finley Rose Slater will be taking over the role. Expect her episodes to air beginning in August 2021.
Tune in after the Olympics to see more details on the Days of Our Lives cast comings and goings.
