‘Days of Our Lives’ Names Former NBC Executive to its Director of Communications
Days of Our Lives has hired someone new. But this time, it’s not a new cast member who has joined the show. Instead, Ken Corday — the show’s executive producer — has added a new person to his team of professionals.
‘Days of Our Lives’ executive producer has hired Lia Maiuri
Ken Corday, who is the Days of Our Lives executive producer, has announced that he has hired Lia Maiuri as his director of communications. Prior to joining Corday’s team, Maiuri handled publicity at NBCUniversal. In addition to handling publicity for Days, Maiuri handled publicity for a variety of television shows in the NBCUniversal family.
According to Yahoo!, Maiuri handled publicity for NBC shows such as Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, and Will & Grace. She also handled publicity for such shows as The Real Housewives of Orange County, Van Helsing, SurrealEstate, Slumber Party and Massacre, and Nash Bridges: The Movie.
But most of all, Maiuri was responsible for the successful publicity machine behind This is Us. She was with the show from its inception. Now, she’ll exclusively work on Days of Our Lives.
‘A terrific addition to our team’
“Lia is a terrific addition for our team as she comes to us after her stellar work at NBC, which included her insightful publicity efforts for Days,” said Ken Corday, the show’s executive producer, in a statement released to Yahoo. “Her transition from the network to our production has been seamless and we know we’re in good hands with someone so passionate about our show and its loyal audience.”
Maiuri joined the NBCUniversal family in 2016. Initially, she started out as a press coordinator. She worked her way through the ranks, eventually getting the title of Publicist. She left the company at the end of 2021.
Now, she’s exclusively working on Days. And she’s coming into the production on what’s being called a new renaissance for the show.
‘Days’ is enjoying a ratings high
According to Soap Opera Network, Days of Our Lives is enjoying a ratings high in the past few months. However, they still need to make up some ground.
“Despite pulling in its biggest overall audience in 11 months, [the show] remained in 12th place in Women 25-54 even with an improved 0.42 rating in the demo. In Women 18-49, the NBC soap tied for 11th place with “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” both with a 0.29 rating,” reports the outlet.
However, the show has been making plenty of moves to suggest that they’re on the right track. The hiring of Jackée Harry as Paulina Price has proven to be a wise decision. Harry and her on-screen on-again, off-again love James Reynolds (Abe) have excellent chemistry, and their storyline has proven popular amongst fans. Now, the storyline is again getting another layer of complexity with the addition of TR Coates (William Christian, ex-All My Children) to the cast.
Days of Our Lives fans certainly have an embarrassment of storyline riches to enjoy.
