‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ’s Plotting and Scheming, But Where’s Sami?
Days of Our Lives continues to turn up the heat in Salem — and Beyond. The hit NBC soap opera continues to showcase storylines that pique the interest of both longtime fans and newcomers to the show. Now, though, the latest spoilers suggest that a fan favorite will be making a return as another character turns up the heat.

On ‘Days of Our Lives,’ EJ is turning up the heat
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, NBC’s press release about upcoming Days of Our Lives episodes revealed that the “devil knows no bounds.” And if their spoilers are to be believed, the devil’s name is EJ DiMera.
Soap opera fans are advised to keep an eye on the Sept. 23 episode of the show, where it’s teased that EJ will “turn the tables” on Gabi. As fans of the show know, Gabi has been spying on her ex to gain a leg up on the opposition. But EJ is one step ahead of her, and the spoilers tease that he’ll be pulling Gabi’s card at the first possible opportunity.
EJ has already proved that his thirst for vengeance knows no bounds. He booted his own wife out of the house over an old affair, after all. But while EJ is certainly capable of turning up the heat, he’s still capable of reasoning things out after the fall. It will be interesting to see if upcoming episodes feature EJ reflecting on his devious behavior — and what he’ll do to make things right.
Sami is still MIA, but Alison Sweeney teased her return
Speaking of which, Days of Our Lives fan-favorite Sami has been off the canvas for quite some time. Of course, the show wrote her hiatus off as a “kidnapping.” But while Alison Sweeney has been busy filming made-for-TV movies, she still makes time to periodically return to Salem.
And according to Soaps @ SheKnows, Sweeney recently teased that she’ll be back on the canvas soon. Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas event will air beginning Oct. 22, and Sweeney’s upcoming film Open by Christmas is set to be on the slate. But after the Christmas movie season is over, will Sweeney be back in Salem? It remains unclear what day she’ll return to the canvas, but what we do know is that questions still linger about who kidnapped Sami.
Days of Our Lives fans will recall that we last saw Sami on Aug. 11’s episode, where she was chloroformed outside of Rafe’s house and spirited away. EJ swears he has no idea where his wife is, but he was the one who booted her out of the DiMera mansion after he found out that she was sleeping with Lucas. EJ is already in full devious mode, so it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility that he’s responsible for Sami’s disappearance. But if he is behind the kidnapping, who did he hire to do it? And where did Sami’s kidnapper take her?
Will EJ sleep with Abigail to get even with Chad?
There is some speculation that upcoming episodes of Days of Our Lives will feature EJ doing the unthinkable. As it is, Abigail’s relationship with Chad is on shaky ground, and there’s some question as to whether it will be able to survive. But if SoapHub‘s spoilers are any indication, EJ will deliver the final death blow to the Chabby ship.
“EJ decides the only thing to do is destroy his brother,” they write. “And, he does this by trying to steal Chad’s wife (which might not be too hard as the two DID have a hot affair back in the day). Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and Chad’s marriage is rocky, to say the least, and EJ seizes the day! It starts with a listening ear, a few kind words, a comforting hug, and before long Abigail will be in EJ’s bed (or perhaps history will repeat itself and it will be in the shower).”
Turnabout is fair play, after all, even if it does destroy a marriage in the process. Chad betrayed Abigail’s trust by sleeping with her sister, Gwen, and getting her pregnant. That the baby is no longer around is sad, to be sure, but immaterial in Abigail’s eyes. Be prepared for upcoming episodes of Days of Our Lives to show the drama at a fever pitch. Things are definitely just getting started.
