The rumors surrounding Deadpool 3 are heating up. Numerous reports have emerged claiming Marvel boss Kevin Feige has his eye on Ryan Reynolds for a multi-picture deal. For his part, Reynolds has confirmed that Deadpool 3 is now in active development after the studio dragged their feet on the project for years. Now, insiders claim that Reynolds wants to bring a specific Avengers: Endgame star on board for the third installment.

Ryan Reynolds has multiple projects in various stages of development

According to We Got This Covered, Reynolds currently has 13 different projects in various stages of development. This includes Deadpool 3. But with so many projects, it’s hard for some fans to believe that the MCU is a top priority for the actor.

Feige might be thinking the same thing. If the reports are true, the Marvel boss is planning on offering Reynolds the biggest contract in Marvel history. This would mean a minimum ten-picture deal. It would also make the MCU a top priority for Reynolds.

Of course, not all of those films would be solo Deadpool movies. The deal could allow Wade Wilson to appear in any upcoming MCU blockbuster. He could be part of an ensemble piece like the new Avengers. Or, Deadpool could team up with another Marvel superhero for a “buddy” adventure.

Reynolds has mostly remained silent about his future with the MCU. But, the latest report about Deadpool’s future claims that Reynolds really likes the “buddy” adventure idea. In fact, insiders claim that he has his eye on a specific Avengers: Endgame star.

Could ‘Deadpool 3’ feature Tom Holland’s Spider-Man?

The latest inside info about the Merc with a Mouth comes from insider Mikey Sutton at Geekosity. Sutton has revealed that his sources tell him that Marvel is considering a Deadpool and Spider-Man team-up.

“Insiders tell me that both companies are ecstatic about the idea of a buddy movie with Spider-Man and Deadpool. No filmmakers are attached yet, and this certainly won’t be Spider-Man 3,” Sutton revealed.

He went on to say that Sony and Disney see “comedic and commercial gold” with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man “tangling” with Reynolds’ Deadpool. Sutton also claimed that the idea of Spider-Man and Deadpool together is becoming more popular than Reynolds’ Deadpool teaming up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Sutton explains that Spider-Man 3 is going to be one of the darkest Spidey movies in the MCU. This would make a comedic turn with Holland and Reynolds’ characters a “hilarious antithesis.”

If fans turn to the Marvel comics, they will see this idea has a lot of merit. Spider-Man and Deadpool have a long history together. They’ve been everything from enemies to good friends. Holland and Reynolds’ also appear to have a good friendship IRL.

Ryan Reynolds also wants Tom Holland to join him for a ‘Deadpool’ buddy movie

We Got This Covered notes that it’s not just the studios who love this idea. Reynolds is reportedly on board as well. Now that Spider-Man has lost his mentor in the wake of Tony Stark’s death, Reynolds sees Deadpool being Spidey’s partner. And, it could be for more than one movie.

Insiders say that Reynolds is “desperate” to work with Holland. But, there are still many questions about how the two characters will actually join forces. We Got This Covered also notes that Sony is trying to sign Holland to his own multi-picture deal.
