Ehrich’s proposal comes a day before Lovato’s two-year anniversary of her near-fatal overdose in 2018. Lovato was open about drug addiction and an eating disorder that she overcame through intense treatment and a sober coach but relapsed after other personal issues steeped in.
In a new Instagram post, Lovato says she blessed and reflects on how much her life has changed in two years.
“Today is my miracle day. I’m so blessed to have one. It represents how the [doctors] at Cedars-Sinai saved my life. How my life has become something beyond my wildest dreams,” she writes. Over the past 2 years, I’ve done more work on myself than I have in my entire life. Things that used to keep me down for weeks or even months, pass like tropical storms because my relationship with God has provided me infinite security.”
Demi Lovato has also made major changes with her management team
While undergoing treatment in 2018, Lovato realized she needed to take control of all aspects of her life, including her career. In a 2020 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Lovato explained her management team controlled everything about her, including her eating habits.
DeGeneres explained that her staff was informed by Lovato’s team to hide any food, beverages or snacks that contained sugar.
While traveling, Lovato’s management team wouldn’t allow her to order room service.
“They would take the phone out of my room so that I couldn’t order room service. If there was fruit in my room they would take it out because that’s extra sugar. We’re not talking about brownies, cookies or candies – we are talking about fruit,” she said. “For many years I didn’t even have a birthday cake, I had a watermelon cake where you cut your watermelon into the shape of the cake and then you put fat-free whipped cream on top and that was your cake.”
Lovato replaced her longtime management team and currently works with Scooter Braun, who Lovato revers as a friend. Braun also manages Justin Beiber, Ariana Grande, and Tori Kelly – all massive successes.
It’s unclear when Lovato and Ehrich plan to walk down the aisle but as usual, Lovato will be sure to keep fans updated. Congrats to the happy couple!
