It’s been announced that Bruce Willis has retired from acting. But what has shocked fans is that his family revealed that the reason he’s stepping away from his career, which spans more than four decades, is due to a recent aphasia diagnosis.
The news was shared via social media by the Die Hard star’s wife Emma Heming Willis as well as his ex-Demi Moore, who just a few days ago posted a photo of her and Bruce celebrating his 67th birthday. Demi Moore’s real name
Moore was born on Nov. 11, 1962, in Rosewell, New Mexico. Her biological father, Charles Harmon Sr., left Moore’s mother, Virginia, before she was even born.
A few months after Moore’s birth, her mom married a man named Dan Guynes. For years, Moore believed he was her biological father as her name growing up was Demi Gene Guynes. However, when she was a teenager she found their marriage certificate and began asking questions. It was then that she learned Harmon was her father.
So where did the name Moore come from? Well, it’s actually the surname of one of her exes.
How many times Moore’s been married
The actor has been married three times.
Her first husband was a musician named Freddy Moore. They wed in 1981 but divorced in 1985. However, his last name is the one she decided to stick with throughout her career.
She was of course married to Bruce as well. They got hitched in 1987 and were together until 2000. Despite their marriage ending, they have had a very good relationship over the years while co-parenting their three daughters Tallulah, Rumer, and Scout.
Moore was also famously married to Ashton Kutcher. They were together from 2003 to 2011. Their divorce was finalized in 2013. Moore said did everything she could to save their marriage but in her memoir, Inside Out, she detailed some factors that led to their split including their 15-year age difference.

Bruce celebrated his birthday on March 19, and that day Moore shared a photo of the two of them together writing: “Happy Birthday, Bruce! Thankful for our blended family.
On March 30, Willis’ family shared his diagnosis with the public by posting a message to his fans via Instagram that read:
To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, “Aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension. Aphasia leaves a person unable to communicate effectively with others.”
