Demi Moore’s Daughter Defends Her Mom Amid Accusations She Snubbed Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes
At this year’s Golden Globes, Demi Moore won an award and seemingly started a feud with Kylie Jenner. Jenner, who was in attendance with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, didn’t get to speak to Moore when she approached her table. After some social media users criticized Moore for seemingly snubbing Jenner, her daughter, Tallulah Willis, jumped to her defense.
Demi Moore appeared to snub Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes
After winning for Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance, an ecstatic Moore walked around The Beverly Hilton ballroom and spoke to fellow attendees and nominees. At one point, she approached the cast of A Complete Unknown, which includes Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, and Chalamet. Jenner sat between Fanning and Chalamet.
As Moore spoke to Fanning, Jenner attempted to offer congratulations. The actor didn’t appear to notice, though, and exchanged a few words with Chalamet before walking away from the table.
Some social media users jumped to Jenner’s defense, criticizing Moore for moving on without addressing Jenner.

Amid this online conversation, Willis jumped to her mother’s defense. She noted that Moore was in a state of shock after winning and had by no means intentionally ignored Jenner.
“Hi @ everyone but really press, NIPPING THIS STRAIGHT IN THE BUD,” Willis wrote on her Instagram story (via Us Weekly). “This angel was in total shock and delight and moving throughout a warm room of well-wishers. There was no snub of any sort, had she seen KJ wanting to congratulate her, she would have fully given her the time and space.”
She added that the family had just spent time with Fanning over the holidays, which was why Moore approached her first.
“We spent new year[s] with Elle, so connecting with her after a win was a very organic thing to do,” she added. “Literally, just give it all a break and let a gal enjoy her accomplishments!?”
She won her first Golden Globe at the ceremony
The reason Moore was in a state of shock was because it was her first award in her lengthy career.
“I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m just in shock right now,” Moore said in her acceptance speech (per Elle). “I’ve been doing this a long time, like, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. And I’m just so humbled and so grateful.”
She noted that in the past, a producer referred to her as a “popcorn actress,” meaning that she might be in big films, but her talent would never be acknowledged. She ended with a note on what she has taken from her performance in The Substance.
“I’ll just leave you with one thing that I think this movie is imparting is: In those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough, or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough,” she said. “I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know, you will never be enough. But you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’ And so today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much.”
