The Bachelorette fans were shocked by the dramatic finale of season 21. In the finale, Jenn Tran revealed Devin Strader broke up with her shortly after they left filming. Devin Strader thinks releasing private texts between himself and his ex-fiancee, Jenn Tran, will help his image. After days of social media silence from the 28-year-old business owner, he returned to Instagram to clear his name. He opted to do so in a lengthy video uploaded to Instagram. In the 13-minute-long video, Strader hand-picks text messages between himself and Tran to share with the world. He alleged he was sharing the messages to “prove” they were both at fault for the demise of their relationship.

Several of the messages show them discussing therapy, arranging times to see each other, and arguing about basic relationship issues. Strader even included portions of an intimate conversation in the video. He has since revised the video to remove the more salacious messages.

While Strader released private text messages to clear his name, Jenn Tran’s fans saw the video as a vengeful act. Following the release of the 13-minute video, which initially included some NSFW messages, fans went to Reddit and other social media platforms to discuss the decision.

While Strader has some fans backing him, insisting he has a right to tell his story, most The Bachelorette viewers are decidedly against him. Several users noted that Strader picked texts to make himself look better while offering no context. Other fans pointed out that the messages were private and that Strader had no right to release them, regardless of his reasoning. One user even argued the NSFW messages that were included in his lengthy video might be considered revenge porn.

Jenn Tran has not responded to the leaked messages or Strader’s “side of the story.” Tran is currently practicing for her upcoming appearance on Dancing with the Stars. Her most recent social media posts have focused on her new endeavor.
