Devin Strader Had a Restraining Order Issued Against Him Before Appearing on ‘The Bachelorette’
Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette ended two weeks ago. The season’s drama didn’t end when ABC aired the finale, though. In fact, the season has only gotten more and more dramatic since. Following the finale, Tran accused her winner, Devin Strader, of cheating before their breakup. He released a series of private text messages, including sexts, to the public. Now, it looks like Strader has had issues with other women in the past, too. According to police reports, the 28-year-old business owner had a restraining order placed against him before he appeared on the series.

Things just keep getting worse for Devin Strader. Following The Bachelorette finale, Strader was criticized by franchise fans for his cold behavior toward Jenn Tran. He made matters worse when he was spotted in New York City with other women. He later cemented himself as one of the worst The Bachelorette contestants when he released private texts between himself and Tran to “clear his name.”
Traditionally, that would be enough to make Strader seem like the absolute worst. Somehow, there is more. This week, Reality Steve revealed that Strader technically shouldn’t have passed a background check to get on the show in the first place. According to the content creator, a restraining order was issued against Devin Strader while still in college.
An ex-girlfriend who has not been named pursued the order of protection. In a lengthy podcast episode, Reality Steve revealed that Strader repeatedly broke the restraining order, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, and lit the paperwork on fire in front of her residence. The victim has opted not to come forward. She remains anonymous.
Devin Strader isn’t the only contestant with problematic behavior
The latest allegations against Devin Strader are not the first of their kind against The Bachelorette contestants. Since Jenn Tran’s season aired, there have been rumors of sexual assault and clout chasing from some of her other suitors. While some of the rumors are far more serious than others, fans of the famed dating competition believe they all point to a major problem with the show’s vetting process.
Marcus Shoberg, Tran’s real first choice, has been accused of sexual assault. No charges were filed, but James Tran, Jenn Tran’s brother, stepped forward to reveal he had received several messages about Shoberg being a liar and a cheater. Aaron Erb and Sam McKinney have been accused of “clout chasing.” Both men reportedly were dating people up until the moment they left for filming. According to a Reddit user, Erb insisted he only went on the show for clout. Erb self-eliminated in week 3. McKinney was booted in week 6.
