‘Dexter’ Fans Don’t Think Podcaster Molly Park Will Make It out of the Revival Alive
Dexter: New Blood has tied in something that has become incredibly popular in the years since Dexter originally aired — true crime podcasts. Famous true-crime podcaster Molly Park arrives in Iron Lake and begins poking around the disappearance of Matt Caldwell. She also takes interest in the young women who have gone missing from Iron Lake over the years. In a small town that has at least two serial killers on the loose, it’s no wonder that fans think Molly could die before the series ends.
Who is Molly Park in ‘Dexter: New Blood’?
Molly first appears in the episode “Smoke Signals,” traipsing across the snow as a clear outsider from Iron Lake. Audrey recognizes Molly as one of the most popular and famous true crime podcasters. Molly begins to pester Chief of Police Angela Bishop for information about the disappearance of Matt Caldwell, much to her annoyance. However, by the episode “H is for Hero” Molly has shifted gears.
She visits Angela at the police station and informs her that her “army of armchair detectives” has spotted one of the missing girls Angela has been investigating. Molly assures her that though this girl is alive and well, many of the other girls are definitely missing. She offers Angela her help in looking into the disappearances, and Angela finally agrees.
Fans think Molly will die in ‘Dexter: New Blood’
Many fans don’t see Molly making it out of Dexter: New Blood alive, and it’s hard to blame them. The disappearances occurring in Iron Lake are no doubt caused by the mysterious masked sniper who keeps popping up. Most fans have assumed this man is Kurt Caldwell. With Molly digging into him, it’s very likely she could end up his victim.
“What I don’t understand is how the podcaster doesn’t recognize Dexter. Sure it’s been more than 10 years, but she definitely would have researched about Rita and her family if she has a pic of Rita,” a fan said on Reddit.
“A theory I have is that she probably knows about Dexter and will be onto him, but before she is able to do anything she is killed by Kurt because he finds out that she was onto him as well and finds out that he kills the ‘missing’ girls.”
Other fans have proposed that Molly’s true-crime podcast could lead her closer and closer to recognizing Dexter, which could definitely spell trouble.
“Molly Park, in some way, is definitely going to figure Dexter out, that is if she doesn’t know who he is as of yet,” wrote one Reddit user. “She may release that info via podcast or online, leading to someone from Miami Metro coming up to search for Dex and confront him about faking his death.”
“Dexter starts to violate his code and kills people for his own safety (probably Molly too?),” another fan stated.
Will Harrison Morgan kill Molly?
It’s even possible that Harrison could end up being the one to kill Molly. After all, he listened to a podcast where she said some pretty tasteless things about him and the murder of his mother. If Molly is on Dexter’s trail, Harrison could end up killing her to protect his father.
“Also pretty sure Harrison is going to kill Molly,” a fan wrote. “Thought about this too,” another fan agreed. “He finds out Molly is on Dexter’s trail and decides to kill her to prevent Dexter being discovered.”
