‘Dexter: New Blood’ Season 2 could focus on Harrison
The most obvious way Dexter: New Blood could continue is to follow the story of Harrison Morgan in season 2. In the finale of the revival, Harrison shot and killed his father. Angela covered for him and told him to flee Iron Lake. Now Harrison is free to start a new life.
Some fans have proposed that season 2 could follow Harrison trying to take down serial killers. They have even suggested that Dexter could return as Harrison’s Dark Passenger. It’s also possible that Harison could run into people from his past. After all, he has two half-siblings, presumably living in Florida, that he has never met.
Although Dexter: New Blood has not been confirmed for season 2, executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips told TV Line that he would be more than willing to make it happen.
“It’s all in Showtime’s hands,” he told the outlet. “If they were to call me and say, ‘We want to do Harrison. We want you to figure it out,’ I’m pretty busy, but I would drop everything I’m doing and jump right into it. I would love to do it, but it’s really up to Showtime.”

Plenty of fans was unhappy with the Dexter: New Blood finale. Some viewers felt that the ending was rushed and didn’t like the way Dexter died. Although it seems unlikely, fans have suggested that season 2 could reveal that Dexter isn’t really dead.
“Maybe, hopefully, there is another season and they open with Dexter waking in a cold sweat after having a dream that all that happened,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “Which prompts him to expedite Harrison and his departure from Iron Lake to Los Angeles…… I want to believe that because I don’t want to believe Dexter’s dead and Harrison killed him.” Other fans even hope that Dexter somehow survived the gunshot.
Other possible spinoffs from the original series could happen
Dexter: New Blood itself is a spinoff, but fans don’t have a shortage of ideas for other spinoffs that could come from the Dexter franchise. For example, one fan suggested that a prequel about the Ice Truck Killer might be interesting.
“Always wanted Brian Moser aka ITK to have his own backstory and show,” a Reddit user wrote. Other fans thought James Doakes would be a good character for a prequel to focus on.
Another fan pointed out that in the books, Astor and Cody are budding sociopaths with dark tendencies. “Go with the books an have Cody and Astor be killers after the fall of Dexter,” the fan wrote on Reddit. This could make for an interesting season 2 if Harrison finds them, or even its own spinoff series.
