Angela discovers Dexter’s true identity in ‘Dexter: New Blood’ Episode 5

In Dexter: New Blood Episode 5, Angela attends a police seminar in New York City, where the guest speaker is none other than Angel Batista. After failing at flirting with Angela, Batista tells her the sad story of Debra Morgan and the death of her and her brother. Before walking away, he tells Angela the name of Dexter’s son, Harrison.

This could be a crazy coincidence, but after Angela gets home Audrey informs her that Harrison told her “Jim Lindsay” is not his father’s real name. This makes Angela suspicious enough to do some research of her own. She quickly discovers Dexter Morgan’s obituary, noticing the man looks just like “Jim Lindsay.” Angela is smart enough to fill in the blanks, so how is Dexter going to get himself out of this?

Fans think they know Dexter’s next move in episode 6

The promo video for Dexter: New Blood Episode 6 shows Angela confronting Dexter. She pulls Dexter over, asking for his license and registration. Dexter clearly thinks they’re playing their usual game, but Angela pulls the rug out. “Not that one,” she says as Dexter reaches for his fake ID. “The one for Dexter Morgan,” Angela says holding up Dexter Morgan’s obituary.

Clearly, Angela is wasting no time confronting Dexter, but fans think they know how Dexter can easily smooth things over. “Literally, all Dexter has to do with ANYONE confronting him about hiding his identity is him say ‘my wife was killed by the trinity killer, my son was found in her blood, and he too was also almost killed by the doomsday killer,'” a fan wrote on Reddit.

“My sister was murdered by the serial killer known as Oliver Saxon, why wouldn’t I hide my identity? I worked with the police department and all that followed from it was my family’s death, that’s why I changed my identity, and don’t you dare vilify me for it.”

“I could be wrong, but I feel like Dexter can come clean to Angela about his past and still get away with his crimes,” another fan said. They explained that just because Dexter reveals his true identity, doesn’t mean Angela will learn that he has killed people.

Will Dexter finally answer for his crimes?

Angela’s discovery of Dexter’s true identity doesn’t necessarily mean she will learn he is a serial killer. Dexter has certainly left some loose ends untied, but not even Harrison knows the whole truth about Dexter. However, if Dexter: New Blood ends up being only one season long, it’s possible that Dexter could end up dead or in prison in the end. For now, fans will have to wait and see.

New episodes of Dexter: New Blood air Sunday nights at 9 PM ET on Showtime.
