Jolie and Pitt first started dating in 2005, shortly after the demise of his marriage to Jennifer Aniston. At the time, Jolie had already gone through two divorces and was not keen on walking down the aisle ever again.

In a recent interview, Jolie shared her thoughts on the divorce and how she has handled the drama over the past few years.

The actress admitted that she has not felt secure in herself for years and that it has taken great effort to get her confidence and sense of freedom back. According to Fox News, Jolie did not say her struggles were related to the divorce, but it is safe to say that the split did not help her state of emotions.

“I have felt small. I have felt cornered. And it has taken a lot to find that again, probably more of that today than I was in the last four years,” Jolie shared.

Jolie filed for divorce in September of 2016. She shares six children with Brad Pitt, including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox.

Following the divorce, reports surfaced that Pitt had physically abused Maddox on board a private plane. Pitt was fully investigated and found innocent of the claims. His relationship with Maddox, however, has yet to fully heal.

Speaking of Brad Pitt, the actor recently opened up about the breakup while promoting his new film, Ad Astra. Pitt revealed that he had to take responsibility for what happened in his failed marriage and admit to himself that he could have done better.

Sources also claim that Pitt is happy now that the hardships are over. He is also looking forward to raising his children and being the best dad possible.
