Demi Moore recalls the moment Bruce Willis told her he didn’t want to be married anymore

In Moore’s memoir, she recalls the moment Willis told her he no longer wanted to be married to her anymore.

“My professional life was soaring,” she writes. “My personal life was painful. Bruce was getting ready to go do a film that was shooting in Europe, Hudson Hawk. There was a lot of buzz around it: it had a huge budget; Bruce had worked on the story and co-written some of the songs, and he had a lot riding on the film. Just before he left, he dropped the bombshell: ‘I don’t know if I want to be married.'”

This left Moore feeling “sucker-punched,” as she describes it. And it was then that she began to suspect her former husband of messing around with other celebrities.

Bruce Willis once gave a statement that suggests he doesn’t believe in monogamy

In an interview, Willis talked about the concept of marriage. He suggests that it is a “myth” to pretend one person can satisfy all your needs for the rest of your life.

“What is marriage?” says Willis. “No woman is going to satisfy a man’s natural impulse to procreate, procreate, procreate. The impulse doesn’t go away because you have 3 or 10 or a hundred kids. On an emotional level, to think that you are going to find one person who understands what you need right now and is able to give it to you, to anticipate what you will need 10 years from now, 20 years from now, 30 years from now—for the rest of your natural f*cking life—is a myth. Yet that’s what marriage is based on.”

Demi Moore began suspecting Bruce Willis of cheating on her

In Moore’s book, she talks about the difficult days when Willis would act “unkosher” in their relationship.

“When he left to film Hudson Hawk, things were in a very precarious state,” she writes. “I went over to visit once, and, frankly, I had the feeling that he had screwed around. It was tense, and it was weird, and there was just stuff that didn’t seem kosher.”

According to Moore, she had an encounter with Jones where she asked the Mad Men actor if she ever slept with Willis. It was something that she had always suspected, so she had to know if it was true. And according to Moore’s book, Jones had no interest whatsoever in Willis.

“I told him a hundred times,” Jones said of Willis. “I don’t want to f*ck that old man!”
