BTS’s popularity has been blowing up these past few years. They are one of the most popular artists in K-pop as well as one of the most popular boy bands in the world.

It seems there isn’t anything BTS can’t accomplish, and youngest member Jungkook even seemed to predict that they could win their first Grammy Award soon.

BTS has been accomplishing many things in 2020

Although the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has put a stop to some of BTS’s activities, the group still managed to break records and further their career.

In August, they released their first English-language single, “Dynamite.” It quickly climbed to the top position on the Billboard Hot 100—making it BTS’s first no. 1 single. Then, in October, BTS added another no. 1 song to their list when they collaborated with Jason Derulo and Jawsh on the song “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” which topped the chart as well.

Recently, BTS’s latest single, “Life Goes On,” also climbed to the no. 1 position, making it BTS’s third single this year to have done so. “Life Goes On” is also the first and only Korean song to have accomplished this.

BTS received their first Grammy nomination recently

It seems getting a no. 1 song in the U.S. is no longer an elusive feat for BTS. Now the group can set their sight on another goal—winning a Grammy.

Earlier this year, BTS became the first Korean act to perform at the Grammy Awards. Less than a year later, BTS made history by being the first Korean act to receive a nomination. BTS’s hit single “Dynamite” has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with “Dynamite.”

BTS are no doubt happy about this nomination. The group released a statement to thank their fans, writing, “It feels like the fruition of our hard work, so we are happy beyond words. It is fascinating and moving. We are grateful to ARMY, who gave us the chance to be nominated. We’re even happier thinking about how our fans will like this. Now that we’re nominated, we feel ambitious about getting the award.”

Did Jungkook predict they will win the Grammy Award?

BTS are up against other popular artists such as Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. As such, many onlookers wonder if they could really take home the award. However, Jungkook may have implied that they could win their first Grammy soon.

In a recent live stream where the members talked about their Grammy nominations, J-Hope shared that his mom had a symbolic dream that predicted BTS getting the Grammy nomination. In the dream, she saw an eagle along with people happily applauding something. The members shared that the eagle could represent the U.S. and the people applauding seemed representative of an award show.

After J-Hope revealed that his mom had the dream twice, Jungkook said, “If it’s two times, then one is for the nomination…” Although he did not complete the sentence, it’s clear Jungkook was implying that the second time could be symbolic of the group winning the Grammy.

Ultimately, we won’t find out the results until the Grammy Awards airs on CBS on January 31, 2021.
