Did Jasmine Masters Leave Halfway Though RuPaul’s Holi-Slay?

The hit reality competition show RuPaul’s Drag Race brought together it’s fan’s two favorite things, fierce queens showcasing sickening looks on the main stage and Christmas!
Not only was the hour-long RuPaul’s Drag Race Holi-Slay Spectacular a fun Friday night special to sit back and enjoy, but some behind the scenes drama took place between the queens and let’s just say it wouldn’t be RuPaul’s Drace Race without a little tea.
Jasmine Masters left the Holi-Slay Special
Everyone knows Jasmine Masters is a queen who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, no matter the situation. After rising to popularity with her YouTube and Instagram videos, fans began to realize how open and hilarious Masters was.
The viral meme queen was set to join other fan favorite queens on the VH1 Holi-Slay Special of Rupaul’s Drag Race on Dec. 7. Fans loved her entrance look but soon came to realize that Masters was not seen as much as the other queens and did not have any commentary during the rest of the episode. Weird right?
Fans had questions and Masters had no problem at all explaining her reasoning for not continuing the program.
Another queen caused Jasmine Masters to leave
According to Masters in an Instagram live video that was posted right after the episode aired, Jasmine Masters revealed the reason why she was not seen in the rest of the Holi-Slay Spectacular episode. “So why don’t you see no confessionals of me? Honestly, it’s because I left,” Masters states.
Jasmine Masters goes into detail about the situation that caused her absence in the show. Masters reveals that tensions ran high between her and fellow drag queen, Shangela while filming the episode. According to Masters, Shangela was constantly late during the days of filming, “Everything we had a call time on doing, Shangela’s a** was late. And by that second day, I could not have no more of this girl showing up late [and] taking 45 minutes extra to get ready…My nerves could not take no more. I have s*** to do.”
Masters explained a certain instance of Shangela’s tardiness of when all of the queens were waiting to film a scene right before lunch and Shangela was nowhere to be found. Masters stated that she had gone looking for Shangela and found her enjoying the company of producers. Shangela allegedly got defensive when Masters asked her to come back to set so they could finish filming the scene. Jasmine Masters went back to set and waited another 15-20 minutes for Shangela to come back to set. After waiting, Masters decided to pack up leave since she was not about to “waste my time” on another queen.
Was this holiday episode just a publicity stunt?
Many fans revealed their disdain for the holiday episode since they believed it was just promotion for RuPaul’s holiday album.
Even though Masters revealed only her drama with Shangela’s constant tardiness, fans wondered if the show was just another publicity stunt for RuPaul’s Christmas album and the upcoming season of All-Stars 4. None of that has been confirmed but it is no question that the Holi-Slay Spectacular did not sit well with a lot of people, especially Jasmine Masters.
