Jenelle Evans’ appeared on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter after a five-year hiatus from the franchise. Her return was heralded as a fresh start for the mother of three. It looks like it was short-lived. She apparently won’t be returning. Based on court documents, she took a massive pay cut from her previous salary to join the cast.

How much did Jenelle Evans earn on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’?

Jenelle Evans was in court earlier this month to discuss issues pertaining to her upcoming divorce from David Eason. The case was continued, but the documents Evans submitted were released. They show how much money the former reality TV star made in 2024. According to the filing obtained by the U.S. Sun, Evans earned just over $17,000 for her involvement in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. She also declared over $16,000 for a single month of work on OnlyFans. While many followers focused on her OnlyFans earnings, we can’t help but notice her TV earnings were pretty paltry compared to what she used to make from the show.

Before signing up for Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Evans subsisted on earnings from OnlyFans and TikTok. The earnings aren’t insignificant, but her paycheck during her first run on Teen Mom 2 was nothing to laugh at, either. In 2019, court documents revealed that Evans earned $400,000 for her involvement in Teen Mom 2.

Did Jenelle Evans take a pay cut?

While Evans earned much less on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter than she did when she was a regular cast member on Teen Mom 2, there is a good reason for it. Evans wasn’t a full cast member during her brief return to the franchise. Instead, she was considered a guest, only appearing in a handful of episodes before the season finale. Guests are paid substantially less than individuals regarded as full cast members.

While Evans was, technically, paid much less for her time than she was during her previous stint with MTV, the limited amount she was filmed is primarily the reason. She likely would have earned substantially more if she signed up as a full cast member for an entire season. While Evans didn’t earn $400,000 for her time, she still garnered a decent paycheck. Now, she’ll need to rely on her OnlyFans earnings to keep her family afloat from here on out.

Will Jenelle Evans return for season 3?

Her time on the series was, reportedly, just a trial run. It seems like it was a bit of a failure. The other moms are said to be filming for a new season, but Evans is not. It doesn’t appear that Evans will return for more time on MTV.

According to the Ashley Reality Roundup Group, Evans was not asked to return for season 3 of the reboot. The publication claims MTV had hoped to film a redemption arc for the troubled mother of three, but the addition of a new love interest destroyed the storyline. Evans and her beau, August Keen, further irritated the production team when they pushed for Keen to be credited as a boyfriend, which would have earned him a larger paycheck, according to the outlet.

Evans has not spoken much about Teen Mom: The Next Chapter since the season finale. Still, she made it clear that she was not aware of a potential return. Recent drama, including a 911 call, more CPS involvement, and her antics with Kaiser Griffith and the Griffith family make a return seem less and less likely.
