Did Madonna Really Once Want Dennis Rodman’s Baby?
In the 1990s, Dennis Rodman and Madonna were one of the most talked-about couples in Hollywood. He was an eccentric NBA player and she was one of the biggest pop icons of our time. Many fans thought that it was an odd pairing, to say the least. And apparently they thought the same thing because their romance only lasted for a couple of months.
Even though their relationship was short-lived, there are reports that the two had actually talked about having a baby together. So, did Madonna really want to have Rodman’s baby?
How did Dennis Rodman and Madonna meet?
In the mid-’90s, everyone knew who Rodman was: He was one of the most talented forwards in the NBA. If his impressive athletic abilities weren’t enough to catch people’s attention, his brightly colored hair and unique antics were sure to turn a few heads his way. One person that had immediately took notice of the infamous ballplayer was a world-renowned vocal artist: Madonna.
In the 1990s, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat were not even close to being invented yet. So, when Madonna decided that she wanted to meet Rodman, she had to do it the old fashioned way: by having her people call his people. According to the Chicago Tribune, it took about three weeks before Madonna’s team was able to arrange a meeting with Rodman.
The first time that Rodman was finally able to meet Madonna, the two had reportedly spent the night together. Although their relationship did not last very long, Rodman had said that he felt he and Madonna were “like soulmates.”
Did Madonna want to have Dennis Rodman’s baby?
Madonna wanted kids for a while before she met Rodman. She had apparently wanted them so much that when she was dating Rodman, she was willing to pay him if he impregnated her.
According to Page Six, Madonna was so eager to have a child that she had made an urgent call to him one time while he was in the middle of gambling in Las Vegas. The Vogue singer had sent a private jet to Vegas so that he could sleep with her because she was ovulating at the time. The former NBA star admitted that he did fulfill Madonna’s request, and as soon as he was done, he flew back to the casinos in Vegas to pick up where he had left off.
Rodman had also said that Madonna was willing to pay for services. “She asked me that if I got her pregnant, she’d pay me $20 million,” Rodman had said. “That’s if the child was born.”
Despite Rodman’s best efforts, he was never able to conceive a child with Madonna. He did end up having three children of his own with two of his ex-wives later on down the road.
Does Madonna have any children now?
Things may not have worked out with Rodman, however, Madonna was eventually able to have kids of her own. Her daughter, Lourdes Leon, was born on October 14, 1996. Lourdes father is Madonna’s former personal trainer. Rodman claims he suspects Madonna got pregnant with her oldest daughter because she had offered her personal trainer a similar deal that she had offered to Rodman.
On August 11, 2000, she gave birth to her second child, a son, named Rocco Ritchie. She shares her son with her ex-husband, Guy Richie, whom she was married to 2000 to 2008.
The iconic singer has also adopted four other children: 14-year-old David Banda, 13-year-old Mercy James, 7-year-old twin girls Estere and Stelle.
