In 2010, when Cyrus was a Disney star and Bieber was still an up-and-coming singer, the two of them went out to dinner together.

According to Us Weekly, rumors began swirling about their possible relationship, but the two of them denied anything was going on. Bieber said Cyrus was “not [his] type,” while Cyrus said they were simply meeting to talk about “a side project.”

When Bieber appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that same year, he also downplayed any romance between him and Cyrus.

Regardless of whether they dated or not, Cyrus and Bieber seems to be good friends. 

The two of them have toured together and shown support for each other’s work. In 2020, after Bieber complimented Cyrus on her Black Mirror episode, she shared with Variety that they could collaborate together in the future. She said, “Man, I think we could come up with something very, very, very special. As of now, nothing is in the works.”

In 2011, during Bieber’s rise in popularity, Cyrus recalled giving him advice about his whirlwind life.

“Just try to remember everything, try to press record in your brain, and remember everything,” she said. “There was so much going, so much to take in as such a young person that I didn’t remember to take everything in.”

Additionally, Cyrus seems to get along well with Bieber’s wife as well. In 2018, Baldwin shared on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke that she and Cyrus went way back. Cyrus, apparently, used to come over to Baldwin’s house to play with her older sister Alaia. In 2020, Baldwin appeared on Cyrus’ Bright Minded podcast, and the two of them talked about religion.

Cyrus still gets along with Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez as well. Rumor has it that Cyrus and Gomez used to have a feud over Nick Jonas, but the two stars seem to be on much better terms now.
