Diddy and Jennifer Lopez: Photographer Reveals the Moment She Captured Proof of Their Romance
Federal agents arrested hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in September 2024, thrusting him back into the spotlight after Homeland Security raided two of his properties in March 2024. A-listers knew Combs for his successful record label and wild parties. Combs dated Jennifer Lopez in the late ’90s to early 2000s, and they stayed friends after dating. Recently, a celebrity photographer revealed that she broke the news of the couple’s relationship with her photo.
A celebrity photographer revealed the moment she captured proof Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Jennifer Lopez were dating
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez dated for two years, from 1999 to 2001. They met on the set of Lopez’s music video for “If You Had My Love.” While Combs and Lopez eventually fell for each other, Lopez didn’t immediately fall for the hip-hop mogul. Lopez once explained that she felt like she and Combs were “very different.” She was more “family-oriented” and hoping to settle down.
“He was larger than life, but at first, I didn’t like him at all,” Lopez said in an interview on YouTube. ” … I thought he was, like, you know, ick. I didn’t like him because Sean and I were very different that way; I was very family-oriented, and kind of the married type.”
Despite Lopez’s hesitancy, she and Combs started dating. Celebrity photographer Selma Fonseca attended “20 to 30” of Combs’ parties through the years. She revealed to Fox News Digital that she broke the news of the romance to the public.
“He had just bought that house in the Hamptons, and he had the white party where I was able to photograph him and J.Lo on the balcony kissing each other,” she said. “And I broke the news that they were dating because there were rumors they were dating, but nobody had proof.”
Fonseca added that all of Combs’ parties were “incredible: the best food, the best music, drinks, entertainers, people with fire.”
Jennifer Lopez does not plan to ‘address the accusations’ against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, a source says
Sean “Diddy” Combs pleaded not guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. As Combs spends time in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, accusations against him continue to pile. A source told DailyMail.com that Lopez feels “tremendously disappointed” in Combs but does not plan to address the allegations.
“Jen is not going to address the accusations or take time to talk about them because it is not her story to tell,” the source said. “If she is asked about it in a future interview, she will cross that path as and when it happens, but she won’t address it publicly and will not put herself in that conversation on purpose.”
J.Lo could get subpoenaed in the current case
Jennifer Lopez and Sean “Diddy” Combs haven’t had any romantic involvement in over a decade. However, her and Combs’ participation in a 1999 nightclub shooting might mean she gets subpoenaed for the current case. Lopez also attended Combs’ infamous “White Parties.”
“Jennifer Lopez’s presence the night of the shooting incident and then departing in the same vehicle as Combs makes her a witness with firsthand knowledge and could subject her to being subpoenaed to testify under oath,” New York lawyer Pete Gleason told In Touch Weekly. “If there are any criminal charges or civil claims not outside the statute of limitations, this would likely prove problematic for Lopez.”
