Is Disney Channel’s ‘Descendants 3’ on Disney+?
It’s good to be bad, especially when you’re a VK living in Auradon. However, some fans of Descendants are wondering how they can binge-watch movies featuring characters like Mal and Evie. Is Descendants 3 currently on Disney+? When does it join the streaming platform’s library? Here’s what we know about this original movie and the company’s subscription service.
Some ‘Descendants’ movies are on Disney+
The story of Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay may be coming to a close, but fans can still binge-watch these movies over and over again. With Disney’s streaming platform some Disney Channel original movies are available in their library. That includes hit movies like Descendants, Descendants 2, High School Musical, Lemonade Mouth, and Camp Rock.
In 2015, Disney Channel premiered its spin-off series, Wicked World, which tells the story of characters like Mal and Evie. Two seasons of their television show are available on Disney+, along with the special, Disney Under The Sea: A Descendants Story. However, some fans are wondering whether or not the final Descendants movie is on Disney+.
When will ‘Descendants 3 ‘be on Disney’s streaming platform?
During 2019, Disney Channel premiered the third, and presumably, the final movie of this series. However, with the passing of Cameron Boyce, which portrayed “Carlos,” the future of these characters is still unclear.
“I don’t love the idea of doing it without Cameron, I don’t know what the plot would be and I don’t know what it would look like,” Dove Cameron said, according to Teen Vogue. “But I also love the franchise and I love [director] Kenny [Ortega], and I love Disney and I love that cast. I loved that time in my life. There is nothing that I can say for sure, but I definitely can say that it is not out of the question.”
With this third movie, it was up to Mal and the rest of the VKs to save Auradon from a new threat. Descendants 3 featured actors Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson, and Booboo Stewart. Now, some fans are wondering if they can see this movie with a subscription to Disney+.
Unfortunately, Descendants 3 is not listed on the Disney+ library if you’re in the United States. If you’re in Australia and New Zealand, the movie is already on the streaming platform. According to What’s on Disney Plus, this DCOM will be on Disney’s subscription service beginning on Sunday, February 2nd.
There are Disney+ original movies and television shows on Disney+
It’s only a matter of time before Descendants 3 joins the Disney+ library. In the meantime, fans can watch other DCOMs, which are available on Disney+. That includes movies like Camp Rock, High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls, and Halloweentown.
Disney+ created a few spin-offs based on Disney Channel characters on movies. At the streaming platform’s launch date, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered its first episode. Reportedly, the television show will return for its second season on this streaming platform sometime during 2020.
