Daredevil might soon return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new issue of Production Weekly magazine, which provides production updates on current television and film projects, has suggested that Marvel’s Daredevil series starring Charlie Cox will be getting a reboot. Marvel has yet to confirm the news, but the rumor does align with Cox’s earlier statement that he would reprise his role in a new project. Here’s what we know.

Marvel’s Defenders shows moved from Netflix to Disney+ in March

Daredevil first premiered on Netflix in 2015 and continued for three seasons. The Marvel series coincided with five other shows — Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Punisher, Luke Cage, and The Defenders — that made up the Defenders saga.

On March 16, Marvel relocated the Defenders shows from Netflix to Disney+, along with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Many fans hoped the move would kickstart a Daredevil revival, allowing the series to continue with a fourth season. However, Disney+ has yet to confirm new Daredevil episodes.

A ‘Daredevil’ reboot is reportedly on its way to Disney+

As IGN notes, Production Weekly included a “Daredevil reboot” section in its newest issue, suggesting that it would begin production soon for Disney+. The listing did not include an official production start date, but it did list Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige as a producer, along with Marvel’s Behind the Mask’s Chris Gary. No cast members were mentioned, either.

Production Weekly did include a synopsis for the project, but it seems to be a recap of the original series. For the uninitiated, here is Netflix’s synopsis for Daredevil:

“Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero ‘Daredevil’ in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Watch Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix.”

Back in February, Charlie Cox teased that his cameo as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home would not be the last fans saw of the character. “I don’t know much, but I know there will be something else,” Cox admitted.
