Sure Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, and Finding Dory were heartwarming and sweet. But now, Disney and Pixar have a few new characters and stories up their sleeves. That includes two animated films set for their theatrical release during 2020. Here’s what we know about upcoming Disney and Pixar films, Onward and Soul.

Disney and Pixar premieres ‘Onward’ on March 6, 2020

Ian and Barley Lightfoot find themselves on a quest when a wizard’s staff brings their father back to life. Well, kind of. It’s only the bottom half, but these brothers are determined to have just one more day with their father. The trailer for this film, which originally premiered during 2019, shows everything from dragons to unicorns and fans can’t wait for this adventure to begin.

This animated feature film features the voice acting of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, both formerly of Marvel movies Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. According to IMDB, other cast members include Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Lena Waithe as Officer Specter, Disney and Pixar’s first animated openly LGBTQ character. Onward premieres in theaters on March 6.

Disney and Pixar’s ‘Soul’ debuts on June 19, 2020

What would you want to be known for on earth? Not much is known about Pixar’s animated film. Although, based on the trailer, fans know it has to do with a musician and what happens after he falls down a hole, literally. When Joe Gardner finds himself as a glowing soul, he has to discover more about his “passionate, brilliant self.”

Jamie Foxx voices the main character, Joe Gardner. According to IMDB, however, other cast members include Tina Fey and Quest Love. Presumably, more information will be announced in the coming months. Soul premieres in theaters on June 19.
