Is Disney and Pixar’s ‘Onward’ Premiering on Disney+?

The next Disney and Pixar movie to be released is ‘Onward,’ the story of two brothers who go on a quest together
Times are tough, the trailer for Onward explains. But these times aren’t like our times. Pixar’s latest movie takes place in a fantasy land where unicorns eat trash and dragons make pretty adorable pets.
This movie tells the story of two brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who are given the chance for one more day with their father. When something goes wrong and they only get the bottom half of their dad, they embark on a “glorious quest,” or rather just a really complicated errand, to try to get him back.
“It was really hard movie to title because it is so unique. But, but no, we chose ‘Onward’ just because it has this sort of positive feeling to it,” Onward director Dan Scanlon said of the movie’s title, during an interview with Screenrant.
“It feels like a journey,” he continued. “It feels like something Barley would say, you know? And because it’s a coming of age story, and it really is about Ian moving forward. And it’s also a story about letting go of some of the hurt and things of the past. And so, it ended up being really perfect for that.”

Onward stars Marvel veterans, Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, both formerly of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. This movie also features the voices of Mel Rodriguez, Lena Waithe, Ali Wong, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer.
The wait is almost over, fantasy fans. Disney and Pixar’s latest release premieres in theaters on March 6, 2020. Presumably, this movie will have its theatrical run for a few weeks, later being followed by the release of Disney’s live-action Mulan. However, some fans are wondering if it will premiere on Disney+, the company’s streaming platform.
Will ‘Onward’ be on Disney+?
There’s no word from Disney regarding when, or if Onward will be available on its streaming platform. Some Disney movies headed straight for their debut on this streaming platform. That includes the 2019 live-action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp, which premiered on Disney+ at its launch date.
However, most Disney-produced content released in 2019 appeared on the Disney+ library a few months after it premiered in theaters. Presumably, the same thing will happen with Onward.
