Do Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Want a Zoom Wedding?
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many special events, including weddings and birthday parties, have had to be rescheduled. Celebrities have been affected by the restrictions, just like “normal” people, and are being forced to change up their in-person plans in favor of virtual options.
Still, when it comes to wedding planning, many prefer to keep things traditional — and this certainly seems to be the case with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The two have reportedly been discussing a wedding for months, and Stefani could possibly be looking at tying the knot even sooner than fans realize.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met on the set of ‘The Voice’
Shelton and Stefani first met in 2014, when they were both working together on the set of The Voice, the hugely popular singing competition show. While there’s no doubt that Shelton and Stefani hit it off right away, at the time, they were both married to other people.
Shelton was involved with fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, while Stefani had been married to singer Gavin Rossdale for many years.
Still, as their respective marriages dissolved, Stefani and Shelton found themselves commiserating and becoming even closer. The two started dating sometime in late 2015, and by 2016, they began stepping out as a couple.
Although Stefani and Shelton might have seemed like an odd couple at first, it became clear to fans that the two were meant to be together. They have been inseparable ever since, with both stars posting adorable pictures to Instagram that only reveal they have grown closer over the years.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s rumored engagement
It was inevitable that engagement rumors would begin as soon as Shelton and Stefani began dating. While neither of them has confirmed any wedding plans, fans are certain that it is only a matter of time.
After five years of dating, Shelton and Stefani have clearly committed to each other, with Shelton becoming a father figure to Stefani’s three children. The two recently purchased a home together, which caused many to speculate that an engagement announcement was just around the corner.
Still, there has been no word from Shelton or Stefani. Some have theorized that neither star is in a huge hurry to tie the knot, considering that they have both been married before and have nothing to prove to anyone.
Will Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have a Zoom wedding?
Shelton and Stefani are lying low, along with the rest of the world, while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to run its course. Still, a recent report reveals that the two are still discussing wedding plans.
A source claims that the two want to have a wedding as soon as “social distancing guidelines are lifted” and that both Shelton and Stefani are eager to celebrate their commitment to each other with family and friends. The report states that the two want to have a wedding over the summer months, but that they aren’t tied to any particular date, and won’t even mind if they have to delay it until the fall.
For these reasons, the source states that Stefani isn’t fond of having any sort of virtual wedding ceremony and doesn’t want her family to witness the ceremony over Zoom or Skype. Furthermore, Stefani and Shelton are reportedly eyeing two separate ceremonies, one in Oklahoma for greater privacy, and one in LA.
Regardless of when or how the two decide to have their dream wedding, there’s no doubt that it will be a special occasion that their family and friends will remember forever.
