John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are one of people’s most favorite Hollywood couples. The pair have been together for several years now and seem to still be going strong.
While many fans are aware that they are married, not a lot know about how they met in the first place.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt met in 2008
Krasinski and Blunt were both established actors in Hollywood when they first met in 2008.
Blunt shared with Seth Meyers in 2018 that she and Krasinski came upon each other at a restaurant in Los Angeles. Blunt was with a friend who knew Krasinski. At the same time, Krasinski was at the restaurant with actor Justin Theroux.
“My friend goes, ‘Oh my God, there’s my friend John,'” Blunt shared. “He abandoned Justin and came over to talk to us. He did not eat. He just stood there and made me laugh.”
Both Krasinski and Blunt shared that it was basically love at first sight for them when they talked to each other at that restaurant.
Krasinski, who is known for his role as Jim Halpert on The Office, also revealed that if it wasn’t for the famous sitcom, he would never have met Blunt.
Before he landed a spot on The Office in the early 2000’s, Krasinski was thinking about giving up his Hollywood career and leaving Los Angeles.
However, he stuck it out and life ended up turning out better than he expected. He once told the Today show: “Truly, when I say the show has given me everything, it’s given me everything.”

Krasinski proposed to Blunt in 2009, though not much has been revealed about their proposal. Krasinski did share once that there were “unicorns and oceans and clouds” involved.
The couple tied the knot a year later in Lake Como, Italy. As with their proposal, the details concerning the nuptials have been kept secret. However, we do know that it was not a typical wedding as it was held at a home owned by George Clooney.
Krasinski revealed that it was Clooney who offered to let the pair wed at his home.
He told Elle: “George said, ‘I have this place and you should feel free to use it. Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, there’s no way he is serious. But I started to see his feelings get hurt. I actually hurt George Clooney’s feelings.”

Krasinski and Blunt have two daughters: Hazel (b. 2014) and Violet (b. 2016).
While Krasinski and Blunt are two famous actors, the two of them try hard to let their children live a private existence. As such, they do not post pictures of their daughters on social media and their family life is largely private.
However, both Krasinski and Blunt have talked a bit about parenthood, so fans can get a glimpse into what they are going through. Blunt once shared that she cares deeply about her children’s happiness, safety, and well-being.
She told People: “If you are unable to give them any of those things, then who am I? What’s my identity? My greatest hope is that they are truly happy and interested in life.”
Meanwhile, Krasinski also said that he enjoys fatherhood a lot and is always excited to come back home to spend time with his family. Like Blunt, there are worries that he deals with as well when it comes to raising kids.
He shared that, for him, the “scariest thing about being a father is not having control of your kids’ day-to-day life,” especially after they are dropped off at school or daycare.
