Beyoncé is the stuff of legend. From her stunning talent and her multi-pronged career to her dramatic personal life, she’s amazed fans for decades. But some people don’t seem to believe that her actual life is impressive enough, so they’ve taken to making up their own stories, claiming to know the truth behind the image. Although it’s not unusual for people to invent tales about famous people, some of the ones about Beyoncé are truly amazing.

She’s never been merely ordinary. Born Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, she quickly became the kind of star who only needed one name.

According to Biography, Beyoncé started singing early, dominating local talent shows as a child. She was only nine when she became a member of the R&B group Destiny’s Child, and by the time she was 16, they had landed a record deal.

Beyoncé became a solo artist in 2003, and she went on to become one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, with an astonishing 200 million records sold. She not only crushed it in the music industry, but she also appeared in some big-name movies, such as Dreamgirls.

She’s also gotten involved in the fashion world with her own clothing line, Ivy Park.

If that isn’t enough to capture the public’s interest, Beyoncé is also married to rap star Jay-Z, and they have three gorgeous kids, Blue Ivy, age 8, and twins Rumi and Sir, age 3.

Some conspiracy theories about her

Beyoncé has gone through some dramatic moments in her personal life. She had to fire her father as her manager, and she and her husband have weathered a painful cheating scandal.

At the same time, she works hard to keep her private life out of the press. All of this comes together to make her a perfect target for people who like to invent stories.

The Sun reports that just a few of the conspiracy theories that have been widely shared about her are that she and Jay-Z are members of the Illuminati, that she’s not actually Black, but secretly Italian, that she was never pregnant with Blue Ivy, but used a surrogate, and that she’s a witch.

But the wildest notion out there suggests that the singer died 20 years ago, and her music has been carried on in a bizarre way.

Does Beyoncé have a clone?

According to Daily Dot, in May, someone tweeted two pictures of Beyoncé, insisting that the one on the left was the real Queen Bey, while the one on the right was a clone. The two images didn’t look similar enough for the poster, who took it as proof that she’s been replaced by one or more clones.

Of course, the fact that this theory is outlandish isn’t enough for some people to realize that it’s not true. If anyone is wondering if Beyoncé is really herself, or just a cheap copy, here’s a few facts on cloning.

Live Science explains that no humans have been cloned yet. Furthermore, to clone a person scientists would have to take that person’s DNA and, through a complex process, replace a donor egg’s DNA with the new set. The result would be a single-cell replica of the original person.

That cell would then have to be transferred to a uterus, grow and develop into a fetus, be born, and then grow up. To have a fully grown clone that is the same age as Beyoncé is today, the whole process would have had to start back in 1981, when cloning was still the stuff of science fiction.

Of course, for many people, there’s no reason to let facts stand in the way of a good story. Fortunately, Beyoncé’s true fans know that no matter what gets published in the dusty corners of the internet, Queen Bey will always be one of a kind.
