Dylan Sprouse portrayed a sociopathic student in ‘Dismissed’
He went from running through the halls of the Tipton Hotel to threatening babies and playing chess. In the thriller film, Dismissed, this actor portrayed one of the main character named Lucas Ward, a student who is so obsessed with success that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to be perfect.
“I think what the interesting part about Lucas is that in school there are moments where you’re like, ‘Oh my God, societally I need to do everything I can to make sure my life is set up,’” Sprouse said during an interview with IndieWire.
“That was kind of the guilt complex and the fear complex that we wanted to portray with [Lucas] but kind of drag it out to 11” he continued. “I think in him being relatable it also says a little bit about our education system in a way.”

This character quickly fulfilled all of his teacher’s wishes for an empowered student — he hands in a practically perfect dissertation, he answers questions in class, he even plays chess, an extracurricular activity that Mr. Butler overseas.
Lucas doesn’t just play chess, though, he’s one of the best players in the school. Mr. Butler quickly realizes, though, that everyone is just a pawn in Lucas’ crazy journey to Harvard University.
Sure, he’s the “second seed” on the chess team in this movie, but when it comes to the actor behind this character, there’s no word regarding if Dylan Sprouse actually plays chess. He does, however, have a role in creating the comic book, Sun Eater.

Prior to portraying this chess-playing teenager, Sprouse was an actor on the Disney Channel series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, where he played the mischievous twin alongside his brother, Cole Sprouse.
Although he recently starred in Dismissed, according to IMDb, this actor has a few films set for their theatrical release, premiering within the next few years. That includes Tyger Tyger, which is currently in post-production, and the film Turandot.
