Kody Brown claims he jokes about having more children

Kody Brown isn’t getting any Father of the Year awards, but he is open to expanding his family. At the very least, he was open to the idea a few years ago. Still, he made it clear that he was interested in it.

Did Kody bring Robyn into the family to have more kids?

Kody’s desire to be a father again could spell doom for his marriage to Robyn Brown. It might have been the catalyst for all of the Brown family’s troubles. While it’s unclear exactly what prompted Kody and his then-wives to seek out a fourth wife in the first place, adding more kids to the family might have played a significant role in the decision.

When Kody met Robyn, Christine Brown was pregnant with her last child, Truely Brown. Sure, Christine likely could have had more kids at that point, but she was already nearing 40 and welcomed six children with her then-husband. She appeared done with that portion of her life when Robyn came into the mix.

Janelle Brown also appeared done with pregnancy when Kody and Robyn wed. Janelle and Kody have six children together, the youngest of whom was born in 2004. When Robyn entered the family, Janelle was 41 and had welcomed her youngest child six years earlier.

Meri Brown, who struggled with infertility, was 39 when Kody and Robyn met and had years of difficulty getting pregnant already in her past. With one child, it was unlikely that Meri would have more kids with Kody without medical intervention.

Robyn is significantly younger than Kody’s other wives and did welcome two children with him before the plural marriage imploded. She also brought three children from a previous relationship into the marriage. While the couple is still together, Robyn is now 45, which could make the process more complicated. If Kody hopes to expand his family, he might need to look for another wife. Whether Robyn would be open to that idea is anyone’s guess. Fans suspect a new wife would completely destroy Kody and Robyn’s bond.
