Dolly Parton Debuts New Song ‘Big Dreams and Faded Jeans’ From Album Based on Forthcoming Novel ‘Run, Rose, Run’
Dolly Parton is an award-winning artist and soon-to-be published author. In addition to writing Run, Rose, Run with James Patterson, the “Queen of Country” is releasing an album to accompany the novel.

This artist is “finally doin’ somethin’ I’ve dreamed of for years.” Most know Parton as the Queen of Country Music. The singer released hits “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “9 to 5.” Parton also starred in several films, including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Steel Magnolias, and Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors.
In March 2022, Parton will release her debut novel Run, Rose Run, written alongside James Patterson. According to the Google description of the upcoming release, Run, Rose, Run is a thriller about a “star on the rise” who is willing to do whatever it takes to survive.
“Even Run, Rose, Run, it’s about very strong women, and I’ll possibly be working with strong women in the production of the movie we’re hoping to put out. One of the songs on the album is called ‘Woman Up And Take It Like A Man,’ it’s all about being good as or better than,” Parton said during an interview with MIC.
The first song Parton premiered from Run, Rose, Run was the single titled “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans,” introducing listeners to Rose and her Nashville dreams.

Parton will release her original soundtrack to accompany the novel, complete with 12 original songs and guest Ben Haggard on “Demons” and Joe Nichols on “Lost and Found.”
Parton premiered the first song from Run, Rose, Run, titled “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans,” in January 2022. The “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans” lyric video earned thousands of views since its YouTube debut. Fans even shared their excitement at Parton’s upcoming projects.
When does Dolly Parton’s ‘Run, Rose, Run’ premiere?
“Big Dreams and Faded Jeans” hints at aspects of this story. (That’s especially true with lyrics like “Nashville is the place to be for big dreams and faded jeans.”) As a result, fans expect the official Run, Rose, Run album to coincide with the plot of Parton’s novel.
According to Rolling Stone, “the album was co-produced by Richard Dennison and Tom Rutledge.” The upcoming Parton production will release on March 4, 2022, just days before the Run, Rose, Run novel debuts. (The book itself will be available for purchase digitally and physically on March 7, 2022.)
