Dolly Parton is married, but that doesn’t stop her from dishing about her many celebrity crushes. While explaining that she doesn’t often get starstruck, Parton shared that she often harbors celebrity crushes. Here’s what Parton said about finding crushes and how she feels about the different men.

Dolly Parton’s first crush was Johnny Cash

Parton first realized that she had a crush on Cash while watching him perform at the Grand Ole Opry. At that time, she was a young teenager.

“I was sitting in the audience and that’s when I first knew about sex appeal, someone striking and made me feel something inside,” Parton told ABC News. “He had this tick when he moved his shoulder … and it was still sexy. It still got to me.”

She said that while she didn’t necessarily think Cash was a good singer, she was drawn to his performance.

“He just was great at what he did,” she explained. “He was a great storyteller.”

She shared that she’s had multiple celebrity crushes

Since this first crush, Parton shared that she’s pined over other celebrities. While she doesn’t often get starstruck, it’s difficult for her to avoid forming a crush. The men share a common trait: they’re her co-stars.

“I don’t know that I’ve ever been starstruck,” she told InStyle. “I’ve had a lot of star crushes, usually with every male co-star I’ve ever had.”

These include leading men like Burt Reynolds. Per the book Dolly on Dolly: Interviews and Encounters With Dolly Parton, she described her offscreen relationship with her Best Little Whorehouse in Texas co-star as “sweeter than a love affair.”

Parton also worked alongside Sylvester Stallone in the critically-panned movie Rhinestone. While filming, she struggled with her physical and mental health, and she said he helped lift her out of this dark period.

“Even though the movie didn’t do that well, that was one of my greatest projects,” Parton told Rolling Stone. “Because Stallone was so full of life and so crazy and so funny, and he made me laugh a lot, which was real healthy for me. That movie got me back on track.”

While not a co-star, she has appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night show many times and admits that she has a crush on him.

“Well, I have a crush on Jimmy Fallon now, but I’m big now, I can’t excuse myself on that,” she told W Magazine. “I think he is precious. He’s so funny. We get along so good, and sometimes you never know who you’re going to connect with, and I’ve always had really good luck with late-night guys.”

Dolly Parton has been happily married for decades

For all her talk of crushes, though, the most important man in Parton’s life is her husband, Carl Dean. They got married just as her career began gaining traction and have been together for over 50 years. Though she flirts, she says she’s happy and secure in the relationship.

“He’s not jealous and I’m not jealous of him. He knows I flirt. He flirts too,” the Mirror reports that she said. “Yes, it’s an open relationship, but not sexually and I would kill him if I thought he was doing that. He would shoot me too. At the end of the day we love each other madly.”
