Dolly Parton Says She and Husband Carl Dean Have Compatible Zodiac Signs
Dolly Parton and her husband, Carl Dean, have been married for 55 years. They got married in 1966 and have been in love ever since. So, it’s safe to say that their zodiac signs are compatible.
Dolly Parton thinks she and her husband Carl Dean have compatible zodiac signs
In a recent interview with Access, interviewer Kit Hoover asked Parton to talk about her rollercoaster marriage to Dean. Parton said she thinks her and her husband’s zodiac signs are a perfect match.
“Well, we met 57 years ago, fell in love when we met, it was really a strong bond, and we’re still together,” Parton said. “But we have a similar sense of humor. We’re both funny. Our sense of humor is different, but we’re very entertaining, let’s put it that way.
“And we’re both able to find the humor in anything or make some humor for whatever it is, and so we’re good friends, we respect each other, we like each other.
“I’m a Capricorn, and he’s Cancer, and those are supposed to be, if you follow that kind of stuff, compatible signs anyway. I stay gone a lot, so we’re not in each other’s faces all the time, and I think that that’s probably helped a lot, but more than anything, we’re just good friends, and we’re likable people, and we like each other.”
Parton got married against her record label’s wishes
Hoover asked Parton if she ever thought that she and Dean wouldn’t be married for 55 years.
“Oh, no, I mean, I hope we live to be old together and then just go to sleep and never wake up together. But that’s not likely to happen, but when I got married, I had to go across state lines because we were planning a big wedding when we got married in 1966.
“But I was working with a record label that was spending a lot of money on me, getting me prepped for success, and they asked me to not get married for a year. So, we went that same weekend across state lines to Ringgold, Georgia, and got married so it wouldn’t be in the Tennessee papers.
“Anyway, we just had that whole thing going with us and then, of course, a year later, to finish that story, and I was happy with him, always happy with him. So a year later, everything was going good, and the head of the label said, ‘Now ain’t you glad you didn’t get married?’ I said, ‘I got married same weekend you told me not to.’
“So that goes to show you how you don’t need to be telling people how to live their lives. Just let it be that. But no, we’ve never talked of divorce. I got married once, and even if something happened to him before me, I’d never marry anybody else. That’s going to be my only husband.”
Are Capricorns and Cancers compatible?
Parton and Dean work so well because their zodiac signs are opposites. You know what they say: opposites attract.
“Capricorn and Cancer are opposing signs, but they’ll find plenty of reasons to come together. Both signs are loyal, so it’s easy for them to build trust,” astrologer Theresa Reed told Bustle. That’s exactly the kind of relationship that Parton has with Dean. They’ve been loyal and trustworthy with each other for 55 years.
“When Cancer and Capricorn get together, it’s a relationship that’s sweet, sincere, and enduring. But personality-wise, these two are very different. The Cancer crab is shy, caring, and deeply emotional, while the Capricorn goat is practical, serious, and stoic,” Bustle wrote.
They added: “It’s a combination that shouldn’t work, but somehow does. In fact, these two complement each other really well. Cancer and Capricorn’s zodiac compatibility has everything you need to know about this Water and Earth sign couple.”
This is Parton and Dean as well. As Parton said, she and Dean are different in many ways but have made an enduring relationship.
Cancer is also a “happy ‘homemaker’ who loves making sure that their loved ones are taken care of,” Bustle explains. “They’re nurturing and there to meet their partner’s needs. Capricorn, on the other hand, works hard at providing for themselves and their family.
“According to Reed, Cancer loves how secure their Capricorn makes them feel, while Cancer will give their partner the love and support they need, but have trouble asking for. It’s a relationship that benefits both partners.”
If that doesn’t sound like Parton and Dean, we don’t know what does.
