Dolly Parton Was Once Involved in a Car Accident That Sent Her to the Hospital
Dolly Parton is a singer, a songwriter, an actor, and an author who has never been shy when speaking about things like her childhood and her career. But one thing not many fans know is that she was once hospitalized after a car accident in Nashville.

Dolly Parton was in the car accident along with her best friend
The “I Will Always Love You” songbird was in the car wreck with her longtime friend Judy Ogle.
“Judy and I have been best friends since we were little kids,” Parton told The Sun. “Our parents knew each other, we grew up together, we were like sisters, became best friends. She was very quiet, I was very outgoing. So we made perfect friends.
“We went all through school together. She went to the army when we graduated because she needed the insurance and she needed to help her family and I was trying to make it. As soon as she got out, she came to Nashville and we’ve been together ever since.”
Ogle was behind the wheel when she and Parton were involved in a car crash in Music City.

On the morning of Oct. 21, 2013, the Nissan Ogle and Parton were traveling in was t-boned by a Mitsubishi.
TMZ released audio of the 911 call in which the witness revealed that Ogle was trapped inside the car and needed assistance getting out. Authorities said that she was not at fault for the collision.
Parton was transported to an area hospital where she was later released with minor injuries. Following the crash, the country music star said she was resting at home and just a bit “tired and sore.”

Parton was injured in another accident when she was a kid. The childhood incident didn’t involve a car but she probably should have gone to the hospital. However, the singer explained on an episode of the Dr. Oz Show in 2017 that her parents didn’t have the money to pay for a doctor so her mother took care of the gruesome injury herself.
“I was probably about 6 or 7. I had jumped across the fence, onto a broken Mason jar and cut three of my toes,” the “Jolene” artist told Dr. Mehmet Oz. “Just my little toes on my right foot — almost off. And they were just kind of hanging there. So… my dad and my brothers, they had to hold me down.
“Mama, she put cornmeal — now, you’re a doctor, you might know — I think the cornmeal was to absorb the blood,” she said to which Dr.Oz nodded and agreed.
Parton continued, “They put kerosene on it for antiseptic and mama took her sewing needles — she used to make our quilts and stuff — and she literally had to sew my toes back on. But they worked, and they healed, and I’m still walking on them!”
