Dolly Parton appeared in the series finale of ‘Grace and Frankie’
Dolly Parton’s cameo in the final episodes of Grace and Frankie was guaranteed. Netflix wasn’t keeping her eventual appearance a secret from fans. However, the streaming service kept when and how she would appear top secret. Netflix saved her appearance for the last moments of the series.

Dolly Parton’s role on ‘Grace and Frankie’ paid homage to her character in ‘9 to 5’
Parton’s portrayal of an angel in the Grace and Frankie series finale seems pretty fitting for the country music star. After all, she is beloved. Still, the show’s writers were sure to pay homage to the role that put Fonda, Tomlin, and Parton on the screen together for the first time.
In the finale, Parton serves as an administrative angel. She quips that her boss hadn’t promoted her in 250 years, but she enjoyed the benefits.
The administrative aspect paid tribute to Parton’s role as Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5. In the film, Fonda, Parton, and Tomlin all play clerical workers who are sick of their boss and his antics. Fonda played the new hire, Judy Bernly, while Tomlin took on the role of the office veteran, Violet Newstead. Doralee was the misunderstood beauty.
