‘Double Shot at Love’: What’s Next for Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino in Season 3?
The third season of MTV’s Double Shot at Love will usher in an entirely new set of romantic circumstances for the series leads Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio and Vinny Guadagnino. Instead of two men looking for lasting love, only one of the Jersey Shore stars will be searching for the woman of his dreams while the other will assist them in their journey.
What is ‘Double Shot at Love’ about?
Double Shot at Love was originally conceived as a dating show to help DelVecchio and Guadagnino find love. The two best buddies were the only single male cast members on Jersey Shore. The series was devised to help introduce them to women that might make a suitable companion for the reality television stars.
Double Shot at Love had a premise similar to ABC’s The Bachelor. Women were brought into a home to live with the men. Some would establish a love connection with the potential for a lasting relationship. However, season 1 of the series ended in Guadagnino finding love with Alysse Joyner, while DelVecchio ended his journey alone.
Season 2 brought big changes for both Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino

The show’s second season featured some of the more popular women from season 1. They joined DelVecchio and Guadagnino in Las Vegas where they lived and worked together. During season 2, neither of the Jersey Shore stars were on the search for lasting love. Guadagnino ended his relationship with Joyner and DelVecchio remained single.
DelVecchio left season 2 a taken man. He and Nikki Hall rekindled a love that was paused during the first season of the series. The two remain in a committed relationship.

It appears Guadagnino is ready to try his hand at love once again in season 3. However, the Staten Island native will not be alone as he searches for romantic happiness.
DelVecchio will join his best friend along with Hall, to help Guadagnino navigate his new romantic relationships.
In a video clip posted to Instagram that teased the series, Hall, DelVecchio and Guadagnino sang and danced together to a reworked version of the classic 1965 song “L.O.V.E” by Nat King Cole. The lyrics reflected Guadagnino’s search for a relationship, as seen above.
The video tagline is: “Every buddy needs some buddy. See Vin go all-in on Double Shot at Love.”
Vinny Guadagnino was initially hesitant to embark on a public search for love
Prior to the first season of the series, the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star revealed he was hesitant about beginning such a public journey to find a relationship. Guadagnino explained his reservations to Entertainment Weekly in 2019.
“I definitely had hesitations, because I’m a bit pessimistic when it comes to the whole dating thing, and I’m picky and shy, and me being the center of attention and juggling 20 women at the same time is not something that I would normally do,” he admitted.
“But I like to take chances and experience new things, so I was open to it, and that’s why it’s called A Shot at Love because I was taking a shot at it.”
Double Shot at Love airs beginning Thursday, September 16 at 9/8c on MTV.
