Dr. Dre’s Estranged Wife Thinks He Has Other Kids She Doesn’t Know About
The ongoing legal battle between Dr. Dre and Nicole Young continues with fresh allegations.
Since Young filed for divorce in June, some details of their court proceedings have leaked out to the public. Along with accusations of infidelity, there have been claims of abuse and embezzlement.
Initially, there was a fight over the conditions and existence of a prenuptial agreement. With the most recent development, Young allegedly has suspicions that the producer/mogul fathered children outside their marriage.
Recap of Nicole Young vs. Dr. Dre so far
Young requested spousal support to the tune of $2 million per month back in September, citing that she wanted to maintain her lifestyle. She asserted there wasn’t a valid prenup in place as her husband ripped it up out of love after she signed it under duress.
She asked that he pay for her security team and $5 million for her legal costs. Young also wanted to lay claim to Dr. Dre’s trademarks to his name and The Chronic album. A judge shot down her requests.
Following that, Dr. Dre’s team filed a police report against Young claiming that she embezzled funds. Young has accused Dre of hiding assets and there’s been a constant stream of counterclaims.
Young allegedly searching for alleged mistresses, paternity cases
By the end of October, there were rumors that Young filed subpoenas to summon several of Dr. Dre’s alleged mistresses. Several outlets such as Daily Mail reported that Young sought out three women—Kili Anderson, Jillian Speer, and Crystal Rogers—for their testimony about alleged extramarital affairs with Dr. Dre.
The Daily Mail reported the women obtained an attorney named Kris LeFan who denied they have any information or involvement with the producer/mogul.
Per the outlet, LeFan stated, “Any extra marital affair would be irrelevant because California is a no-fault divorce state and in a pleading or proceeding for dissolution of marriage or legal separation of the parties, including depositions and discovery proceedings, evidence of specific acts of misconduct is improper and inadmissible.”
According to TMZ, Young is now requesting that her estranged husband turn over any documents indicating there were paternity suits filed against him. She is allegedly trying to ascertain whether he had any kids during their 24-year marriage.
What’s at stake in their divorce?
In 2019, Forbes estimated Dr. Dre’s net worth to be $800 million. Some of the couple’s issues stem from the division of property and assets. With California law, if they cannot come to an agreement on their own, the court will do it for them.
Questions arise about community property versus separate property, and what was acquired together during a marriage. Whether both parties contributed financially to the mortgage or other obligations tend to come up during California divorce proceedings. Things can get messy and complex.
It’s been reported that Young does not work. Dr. Dre and his wife are still in the early stages of their case and are sorting through how to divide his vast fortune.
The pair share two children together and Young was a stepmother to Dr. Dre’s three other children. All the kids are adults now.
