They’re the stars of Sibling Watchery, reviewing new episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race on a weekly basis. Are Monét X Change and Bob the Drag Queen from the same drag family? Here’s what we know about these New York City-based performers.

Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change have their YouTube series and Podcast ‘Sibling Rivalry’

These performers are both from New York, with Bob the Drag Queen winning her season of the reality competition series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Monét winning its spinoff, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars.

Since their time on the series, though, these two branched off to work on several projects together. That includes their review show, “Sibling Watchery,” and their podcast series. Prior to the pandemic, these two also performed live together, complete with matching outfits.

Although these drag performers are “sisters,” Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change are not from the same drag family. The two aren’t related out of drag, either. (However, they are members of the “Drag Race family.”)

Bob the Drag Queen does have a daughter that competed on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

Aside from being Drag Race sisters with Monét, Bob the Drag Queen is also the drag mother of one contestant on the series. That’s Miz Cracker, Harlem’s “Jewish Barbie on Bath Salts,” who competed on season 10 and All-Stars 5.

“What I most admire about Bob is her straightforwardness. Sometimes it’s really difficult to deal with because you don’t want to hear the unvarnished truth,” Cracker said during an interview with i-D. “For example, people will say ‘You came to my show and you weren’t laughing,’ and Bob says, ‘I never laugh unless I can’t help it.’ And that’s the way that Bob is.”

“Bob never tells a lie,” she continued. “She doesn’t diffuse you in any way. She won’t even pony up a laugh or a compliment if it’s not completely felt. Sometimes that can be hard, and sometimes that can be great. Because when she’s like, ‘that was incredible,’ she would never say anything close to that phrase if she didn’t absolutely mean it.”

Monét is a member of the House of Davenport

There are a few other legendary families who appeared on this reality competition series. Aquaria, the winner of season 10, is the drag daughter of season 4 winner, Sharon Needles. Kandy Muse of season 13 is a former member of the Haus of Aja.

Even Miley Cyrus was an honorary member of the Haus of Edwards, along with Shangela and Laganja Estranja. Monét X Change is actually the drag daughter of Honey Davenport, a contestant on season 11 of the series.

New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race are available on VH1.
