Duggar Family Critics Noticed Josh Duggar’s Uncomfortable Social Media Comment to Jessa Duggar
Josh Duggar is in major trouble following his April 2021 arrest, and it’s far from the first time Duggar family fans and critics have kept an eye on what he’s up to. While Josh no longer makes appearances on TLC’s Counting On, the rest of the Duggars do. And Jessa Duggar is still a regular on the show with her husband, Ben Seewald.
Critics noticed an uncomfortable comment he left to Jessa on social media years ago as well. Here’s what he wrote.
Where is Josh Duggar today? He’s in major trouble after a recent arrest
Josh’s recent arrest has Duggar family fans and critics reeling. In April 2021, Josh was arrested for allegedly obtaining child sexual abuse images. This came after Homeland Security began investigating him after their raid on his workplace in 2019. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Gerald Faulkner explained Josh allegedly downloaded the illegal images in 2019, and they were then flagged by a police officer and traced back to Josh’s car lot.
We have yet to see if TLC will penalize the rest of the Duggars by taking Counting On off the air. But it seems they have no immediate plans to cancel the family’s show. While Josh was part of 19 Kids and Counting, the network removed him after his 2015 molestation scandal, and he hasn’t been part of any network shows ever since.
“19 Kids and Counting has not aired since 2015,” TLC stated. “TLC canceled the show on the heels of prior allegations against Josh Duggar and he has not appeared on air since then.”
Duggar family critics noticed Josh’s uncomfortable comment to Jessa Duggar
Now, Duggar family critics are looking back at some red-flag behaviors Josh exhibited. And it seems he left an uncomfortable comment to Jessa years ago.
According to Reddit, Jessa and Ben posted a photo together in 2013. And Josh commented, “I’m watching you,” with an emoji of two eyes. To make matters worse, Jessa was one of the sisters allegedly molested by Josh in the early 2000s, and she came forward to talk about the sexual abuse with Jill Duggar after the news broke in 2015.
It’s typical for the older Duggar brothers to be protective of the younger sisters. But Reddit users still noted Josh’s comment comes off a certain way.
“I think he was trying to be all ‘relatable big brother’ but because of who he is and what we now know it comes off creepy,” a critic wrote.
“It’s big brother patriarchal people type of talk,” another added.
Jessa and Ben Seewald spoke out after Josh’s arrest
While Jessa and Ben likely ignored Josh’s comments of the past, they won’t ignore his arrest now.
“We are saddened to hear of the charges against Josh,” Jessa and Ben both posted to their Instagram Stories, according to People. “As Christians, we stand against any form of pornography or abuse and we desire for the truth to be exposed, whatever that may be. Our prayers are with their family as they walk through this difficult time.”
So far, Josh pleaded not guilty to the charges. And Jessa and Ben haven’t made any further comment regarding the situation. Once Josh goes to trial, we’re anticipating more Duggars breaking the silence and speaking out no matter what the outcome is.
